wow i have been gone a long time. congrats on finally skipping the item lossness. can't wait to get home and actually try this out. mayhaps it'll give me a reason to play this again instead of just doing prime and tp runs

EDIT: does this mean the bomb, boost, jump, and spider guardians can be skipped? also if you wait until after getting the light and/or dark beam to get the translator you'd normally get right after bombs (can't remember which one) then you'll end up locked inside the room. oddly enough i couldn't skip the holograph cutscene either

Well I find that everytime I reload HCA and get smacked by one of the 'Ghost Splinter' I think. Done it 3 times in a row & you don't need to boost into the crates. I doorwarped into the two rooms with translators though -.-

i almost always get hit by those splinters yet it seems to make no difference to my success rate. if you don't need to boost into the crates do you just boost anywhere in the room? also i tried it on the set of boxes nearest the door and i got the whiteout glitch. luckily i hadn't picked up the map so i got to retry without resetting

Yeah I shoot the big web, go right up to the door to the next room in IS then get pwnt by a splinter just because I'm 3/3 when I do that... You need to release a small boost into somewhere you don't hit a wall/small bump and you should be fine.

huh. whenever i try it just freezes even if i don't hit a bump or wall. i got the whiteout glitch trying the boxes nearest the door. at the same spot activated the little cutscene of samus landing in the room. i've also gone through all the boxes in the room twice without it freezing, it froze on the first box set in the 3rd room load lol

i find that doing it like how miles did in his vid raises the sucess rate. you'll still get some failures but overall it helps.

so what is the lowest plausible percent run now? because i found that you can still use spider ball in a couple places and i was able to replicate certain sw techniques and skipped violet translator under 14% conditions. just curious to see what ppl can do with this kind of break in the game

There's only two places (AFAIK) where you "can't use Spider": Main Reactor and Dynamo Works, because the Spider tracks aren't actually working Spider tracks until you defeat the boss and change the room state, and wouldn't work with the actual Spider Ball either (were it possible to get beforehand, though the Spider Ball itself being the trigger for Dynamo Works makes that a bit difficult...).

The lowest known possible percent is now 7%; along with the items skipped in 14%, it also skips the 5 items you start with and the Violet/Amber translators.

I've gotten 1:09 segmented, though I didn't put much effort into it (only spent a couple of days doing it). I want to do it SS at some point, though I'm working on 100% at the moment.
