Sylux: Very Likely. He is a cool dude and very popular. Retro even trolled us at the end of Metroid Prime 3 by showing a ship that looks a lot like his, implying a future Metroid game involving him. (Though who knows whether or not it will occur) Weavel: Likely. Pretty cool dude, popular. Kanden: Maybe. Noxus: Maybe Spire: Not likely. To be honest, he doesn't have much going for him. Trace: Not likely at all. He is simply one of the MANY Krikens. >_>
Last I knew, Trace and Sylux had been the two most popular hunters, but this was years ago and soon after the game came out. The two that make the most sense to me as far as returning goes are Sylux and Weavel, due to their connections with both the Federation and Samus herself. So in that sense, if ANY of the hunters return later on, which I wouldn't mind, Sylux is probably the one that has the best chance of doing so.
Well Trace is one of the most popular, but Nintendo would be more than happy to troll us and give us a Kriken other than Trace.
Besides, the main reason Trace was so popular is because his afinity weapon is the Imperialist. The Imperialist can kill people in one hit if you get a headshot, so if you increase the amount of ways you can get it, you do better off.
Weavel's certainly my favorite of all the other hunters, and the one I played most after Samus. Noxus is probably my next highest, although I doubt he'd have a chance over most of the others due to the reasons we've mentioned already.

Weavel is probably third most popular.
Actually I just liked trace cause of you know his looks? :P and I always visioned him and the kriken working with the space pirates trying to plot something that would most likley fail.
i would like to see kanden as a cameo in some kind of laboratory (inside a tube or something like this) even more so if you happen to destroy that laboratory, and then you know who set kanden free XD
and i would like weavel as a main character in one of the games... IIRC retro said something about a metroid game with a space pirate as the main char, it would be awesome if you could play as weavel. but, without the half turret thing, that was ridiculous...
I would be all for the Hunters coming back. I didn't like MPH, to me the coolest part of the game was the title-screen movies which profiled each of the Hunters. I liked the introduction of other Hunters in MP3, it really added alot to the whole Metroid universe. If they did it right, that is to say that if they did it in a game that wasn't crappy like MPH, then I would be all for it.
Maybe they should just call it Metroid Kombat and have all the hunters together, and when you beat the final boss (I mean, this is a fighting game so...) with each character, you view a video of their origins that ties it together, and johnny cage stands on a stage and tells jokes.
If they made her just a bit different from Samus in any way, I wouldn't be surprised. She could easily replace Falco/Wolf/Lucas/any other ripoff character. As a matter of fact, they might even be able to make her useful.
No, I could see them do some interesting things to keep Dark Samus unique, but chances are they'd go the simple route of making her a clone. (Kinda like how they dealt with Ganon even though there are plenty of other options for him.)
I never really thought of Ganondorf as a clone (seeing as how different he plays), but they could've made him so much more... unique? Better? Well, they could have made him more different at the very least. Not that I play as him, anyway.
