If there is anyone that is driving to this and is happening to be going through idaho on the way and has an extra seat then i will go to this. Sadly for that scenario to happen i would likely have similar chances of being the next person to fly to the moon.

Try eating a blue turtle shell. Though to get to the moon you may need to land on a plane and spit it out for a second, as it's kinda far....

magfest was great. well, this year it actually stood for mike's abode gaming festival, since we ended up having the marathon at mike's house. dunno if any of you tuned in (besides jagger and tdk), but we raised well over $10,000 for care, our charity - over twice our initial goal of $5000!.
if you missed it, the entire marathon will be up for download sometime soon.

here's to an even better marathon next year!

Never stressed
Should make them have an actually working commentator stream next time. The whole time I watch it was "mumumbubrmum -HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Whoever that one guy with the absurdly loud laugh is should not be allowed near the commentators ever again. For the sake of the ears of the 1000+ viewers.

The marathon went surprisingly well though, Pianotoads, mike89's Sonic 3 & Knuckles and tjp's DKC were outstanding and made everything worth it. Even if Pianotoads took, like, and hour to set up. Still don't know how they managed to get that much money though, doubling the expected donations on the first marathon was pretty fucking impressive.

That's what my very first reaction was after I had started the commentary stream, but I somehow got used to it over the hours. :p

The marathon turned out to be far more entertaining than I had thought, and the 10k $ still impress me. I didn't even expect it to exceed the 1k mark.

in the name of justice!
Tim is a fucking hero.  nate and ark were also amazing, not to mention...people who are not here so I won't mention them.  Seriously, great meet-up, great to see people, great gaming to watch, horrible sleep schedules.  Everything a game-related gathering should be.

I started off just watching the gameplay stream, but I found it alone to be boring. Once I turned on the commentary stream the entertainment value of the thing skyrocketed (though I'll admit that most of my enjoyment was derived from the antics related to frezy's shirtlessness :3 ).

Yeah, I tried rewatching the stream along with the commentary stream.  It was "fun" pausing the commentary stream to keep them aligned while watching.  It was definitely enjoyable.

Thank you, spineshark.

I've been watching the stuff I missed too, and I'll have to agree that the persistent desynching of the streams is/was very annoying. I'll wait for the streams to be availible for download before I watch any more of it.

Servin' you realness!!
Mine would desync by about a second for every 10 minutes that I watched, which isn't too terrible.
