I'm trying for 100% scans of MP3 (missed on the first attempt so trying again). I noticed that on scan mode Samus' face (eyes, nose) is rather clear at times - I say clear meaning visible and unblemished (especially say on Norion when getting the generators back online).

I noticed later in the game that Samus' face has lines(?) between her eyes and running down her face. The lines are dark. At first I thought it was her hair but this seems unlikely. Anyone else notice this? Could it be a result of Phazon?

I'm making a 2nd attempt to get 100% scans and am paying attention to where I first see this.

I like turtles.
As the Phazon corruption progresses, Samus gets uglier.  At its worst, the corruption made her look almost as bad as she did in the ending of Echoes.

I'll be battling Moganar shortly so I will pay attention. As for Samus looking bad in Echoes... you mean in the light suit? I have commented elsewhere that her face is defined in MP and less defined at times in MP2 - maybe they ran out of time. Not sure what you mean.

Corrupted Samus laughs at your "forbidden". Yeah, fixed it.

Yes: cool and creepy at the same time -- ok, You guys are correct, I defeated Moganar and see some lines.
I happen to like MP3 the first time I played and now that I'm trying for 100% scan, I see lots of things. Retro did a nice job on this game,

I beat MP2 many times at 100% item and once with 100% item and 100% scans. I didn't notice. Now I'll have to go back and check it out.

You won't notice it if nobody tells you. In MP2 Echoes, you aren't looking for lines or anything.

Mario -- correct. Retro fined tuned Samus for MP3 and the fact that non-scan areas/rooms show as dark, this is how I noticed.

Off hand, the face of Samus is only visible in MP/MP2 during blasts near a surface - right?

I was talking about the Metroid Prime 2 Echoes Samus face.

I understand... my post wasn't clear. Generally speaking, the face of Samus was good in MP, in MP2 the programming was a bit rough in places (in coming out several Save Stations) -- the details of her face was tenuous (especially her nose). But I didn't notice her face when visible by a blast or explosion near a surface. In MP3, they greatly improved her facial details in playing, save stations... and mostly during the scan feature. I just don't recall noticing this in MP2.

I'm almost finished a game in MP3 where I hope to have 100% scan. Then I will go back to MP2 and see what I missed. It is possible I noticed but paid no attention or thought it was unrefined programming so I see her face in save stations is rough.
I hope this makes sense.

Holy $#*! Samus...  It sucks to be you right now!

Wow, I never noticed that.  Good catch, mazerski.  I'll definitely have to play through this game again and pay more attention to this.  Oh and by the way, how did you get those shots/angles, rekameohs?  I've played through 100% (several times on all difficulties) and I swear I've never seen... that.

It's like she's... possessed or something, with all that Phazon crap in her blood.

I caught it my first time through, but honestly didn't pay much attention to it.

I thought it was a nice subtle add in from the Devs.

FYI -- I finished a game of MP3 trying to get 100% scans... it seems like a million items to scan and you don't know what item goes into the logbook until you try. Some items do that I didn't expect and the reverse is true. I missed 2 creature scans and I'm positive they were those 1-time scans since I couldn't replicate -- this was my error by not saving at every opportunity since I could have hit reset and try again. I had to backtrack looking for Bryyo and Pirate lore.

I'm starting another game now; fortunately I like the game a lot and for me it has a high replay value - as do MP and MP2.

Nuju -- thanks... so, did you give MP2 another play and did you notice anything?
