the lack of an update has been due to my being distracted/generally not really feeling like working on the run and the shortcut in Zipline Station Delta. :/

I can understand that. Thanks for indulging my curiosity.

So... I did another one. After just four months. That didn't take so long did it? :D

YouTube / FileFront

Save is 1:15. I managed to pull off logitech's Zipline Station Delta trick after practicing it tons, and there were a few mistakes but none of them really cost any time. This really only took like a day of me actually trying to do it, so yeah... I need to be more motivated. :(

Also FileFront apparently deleted all my files so all the FileFront links in the first post will be dead. If I can be given control of the first post then I can be updating it myself; otherwise a mod'll need to do it. :/

hm i almost forgot about this run. good to see it alive.

also, with the release of the mp trilogy, interest might be renewed so there could be more people cheering for the run.

Alright, good segment.  Good to see you continuing the run.  I definitely look forward to the completion as I'm pretty sure you are...

yeah, I think people are probably losing interest because I'm taking so damn long. :P I'm not sure how difficult the next few segments'll be, just thinking about them they don't seem very difficult... but I'll probably get stuck when I get to Gandrayda and, knowing me, take another break lasting a few months. <_<

at least here if you ever quit without finishing the run, someone could take over if you upload the save file somewhere.
although it would be odd seeing a run labeled as "xxx done in xxx by player1 and player2".

I'm already more than halfway done, I might end up taking another few years but I definitely don't see myself quitting completely. :P

anyway, I'm gonna try to get the next one done tonight, I'll edit it into this post if no one else posts before then...

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm certainly still interested. I've been trying to match up or at least come close to your run before I start my own but the Wii controls just feel so klutzy to me for speed running, which says that much more about how impressive it is that you make this look easy.

Take your time, we'll still be here.

I haven't lost interest, Paraxade. I look forward to your new segments. Take your time and good luck.

Also eagerly awaiting new segments. By the way, is your 10-death (or whatever your latest successful attempt was) low% Hyper SS run still uploaded somewhere? Surely I'm not the only one who'd like to see it.
Paraxade:

nope, it was never uploaded anywhere.

it sucked for a lot of reasons other than the deaths. <_< I might go for a deathless one at some point.

Well, you beat Hyper low%, that's already quite impressive by itself, I'd say. If you still have it, you could just call it "route demonstration" or "low% walkthrough" if you're unsatisfied with it. It sounds like it's probably going to be a while until you retry, and I'm kind of dying to see how you even manage to speedrun low% Hyper SS. :)

I was originally going to speedrun a 100% run but I may hold off on that for several reasons. When I get the time to actually commit to a serious run, maybe I'll look into hyper low% again; it's my favorite way to play through this game.

I see sda now doesn't require a first and last name to submit runs. This was really the only reason my brother didn't want to submit his run there so now if someone wants to submit craztad's run there it will be ok. When me and craz did the run we really figured someone would beat it within a month or two but seeing as its been so darn long and paraxade still has like a year left to finish his run(i don't mean anything bad by that, it would take me even longer to get segments as fast as yours) we might as well get a time up on sda if it can even get through the verifiers. It has no sound in one segment if i remember correctly and im not sure most of the segments were even encoded correctly since my brother used his own program to encode most of them. So ya if anyone cares enough to submit, go right on ahead, all the comments and videos are on archive.org so there isn't much to it.

who knows, maybe getting a run up on sda will spark a few others to beat it.

ok well nevermind then. I thought for some reason as long as you had permission to do so it could be done.

I would think this case would warrant extenuating circumstances. It couldn't hurt to ask.

In any case, you need to get to the Pirate Homeworld already, Paraxade. That's when all the fun begins so you can get motivated!

[noembed]

god damn this segment was way more frustrating than you would have thought, this run is making me never want to touch this game again. Just glad that segment is finally done :/ Time is 1:21.
