Its been awhile since I've on here.

I've got a friend who keeps telling me to get a PS3 or Xbox 360 ever since I got a Wii. He tells to get one of them because he thinks having all 3 consoles is "too much".

So I'm not sure which one to get but some opinions from y'all might be useful for me on which one to get.

I would go for a PS3. The only selling point to the X360 used to be RPGs, which have all been upgraded for ths PS3 by now. The PS3 also isn't as fuck expensive anymore and the X360 seems to be the most easyily breaking consolse I have ever seen.

I think the PS3 gets all action and FPS games the X360 has too, the only exclusive genre seem to be shmups which are almost all exclusive to microsoft's console.

Probably not what you want to hear, but it depends on what you want.  Your best bet is to look through the catalogue of games, and see which has the most that would interest you.  I went with the 360, but that was because of price, and most of the people I know having them.  I also had quite a collection of Xbox games, so the backward compatibility played a part.

It really does depend on the games you want like Quietus said. My family has both because each one had exclusives that we liked. I'd say for a pure gaming standpoint, the systems are so close that there isn't much of a difference between them other than the games themselves. (Meaning games look and play the same, or close enough to not matter, on either one as far as I've been able to tell.) If you're interested in online capabilities, I've heard that XBox Live is supposedly better, but in order to get the best out of that you need to pay a monthly fee, if that makes any difference to you.

But in the end, it comes down to what you're looking for in games and features.

I don't like either of them, but the PS3 has Blu-Ray. So I got one of them.

Servin' you realness!!
I also went through this very same decision not long ago.  I ended up getting the PS3 because of exclusive titles (GoW and RE5 basically), and I feared the many tales of the red ring of death.

i think that everyone should play through valkyria chronicles at least once in their life so you can guess which one i voted for. i just can't think of anything on 360 that can beat it. i bought my 360 for ninja gaiden 2 and that was a mistake.

Death to skinfags, sieg heil.
PS3:
Pros:
-more powerful
-you don't have to pay to use the internet
-Better exclusives (IMO of course)

Cons:
-more expensive
-smaller game library

360:
Pros:
-Cheaper
-large game library
-Pretty much everyone has a 360 so chances are you'll be able to play with your friends

Cons:
-Paying to use the internet is lame
-Not as powerful as the ps3
-annoying kids screaming into the mic all day.

Uh... you have to do that anyway for the internet, but I get your point. It's an extra part of the total cost.

should be noted that re5's supposedly going to get an update for the playstation move controls, so that's a reason right there. also uncharted 1 and 2 and of course valkyria chronicles like nate mentioned.

It might be a big middle finger to the Wii, or it may just confirm that motion controls suck.

No it confirmed that Nintendo's motion controls suck. If Sony can get it right, then Nintendo would have to pull their finger out and the Wii's successor might have some decent games.

Plus, I'd quite like to see the PS3 fanboys have to admit that Move is a half decent piece of hardware, and to see Nintendo admit that they did it wrong from the start.

To be honest, it's hard to imagine it working. But who knows? It could.

The gimmicks in Prime 3 (like the 'twist wii remote' switches etc.) were incredibly immersion-breaking, and, since Prime 3 was my first Wii game, I found myself looking down and focusing on moving my wrist in the way they wanted instead of the actual game.

If they didn't have stuff like that, Prime 3 would have felt much more like a game.

It was unnatural. It didn't feel right. Probably still doesn't, it's been so long sinc I played any motion controlled game.

Same goes for stylus games on the DS and iPhone games. I just haven't tapped into the feel of them yet, because they haven't enticed me enough.
