well, miles has 3:50 hard 21%. that's pretty crazy already and he said it wasn't a real run. no one else who has done 21% has even considered running it.
be the first to do it an make a run that won't be replaced easily on SDA :p

other than 21%, nothing too big has been discovered. it is mostly speed tricks and then there's the new any% route.
It was on Normal, not Hard. >_>
I noticed that Stefan used infinite speed in his pal SS any% 1:16 run to get artifact of sun early. I'm wondering if this could be used to save time in a regular segmented run. In that case I will probably just be boring and try and beat his 1:09 segmented run.
i doubt it. sparky doesn't use it in his 1:01
Got a 1:45 last night in a single segment on the 0-00 version.

Hm maybe I should quit attempting segmented and do SS instead, it seems to work better for me.

Pirate109: Also be sure to watch sparky's test run from 2006 (if you haven't already). It wasn't featured on sda iirc and is probably the most up to date speedrun that uses the regular in bounds route.

You can watch it on his youtube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/user/bartendorsparky

Thanks, I'll watch it. The problem is I can't just use the route sparky used in his 1:01 because it involves getting plasma before powerbombs, which can't be done on pal. But I guess there might be some way to modify it so it's still faster than the normal route... I'll have to do some preruns before I can tell.
I'm trying to get good at the frigate again. I've managed to get a 4:21.6x. Anyway, something is really bugging me. In zoid's 4:25 escape on SDA he doesn't have to wait at all at the second door (to the elevator). However, every time I do it, I always have to wait there for a second while it loads. So basically I am always already a full second behind his escape in the very first room. Anyone know what's going on here? I'm playing on a wii, is there any difference in door loading speeds between wii/cube?
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
you might just have a bad disc :( ,that happens to me sometimes with my old disc

not that i know of. actually zoid started using a wii after a while. not sure when exactly. welcome back, btw.
Thanks. I actually just recently watched your prime run from the AGDQ marathon. Very cool how you did early wild first time. That's definitely something I'd mess up in front of an audience lol.

Hmm, I really doubt there is an issue with the disc, it has always been fine. I have had this wii since launch and played it a lot; could this be causing slightly slower loading times? I can barely play mp on my old cube now. It took like 5 tries to start up and all the doors were taking 10 years to load.
maybe try looking at the disc under a bright light (such as the sun). sometimes spots will magically appear on there. can usually be taken care of with a wet cloth.

for some reason i thought it was on hard.
must have confused it with some other run.
ANKOKU
He's the only one who's DONE it on Hard, but his fastest time was on Normal.
I've got the first 4 segments done. It's really just a slightly more optimised version of stefan's 1:09 so far so probably not that interesting, but I've uploaded them to my youtube anyway if someone wants to watch.

1:10, 38%, SS.

Had I not messed up the crash site dash and then continued to fail at climbing back up, I think I would have had 1:09. I think I'll keep trying...
rocks, locks, and invisible blocks
awesome, much better them my SS runs

Not bad for 5-6 days worth of effort. >_>
Did you record it?
Anywhere, everywhere
You've easily got the world record in that soon enough. But focus on segment 3!

is this the same route as zoids???
For the most part.
always move fast
woah.  can't wait to see the final time.
To be honest, I'm not really interested in seriously running MP1 segmented; I find SS to be a lot more fun. I did get 1:32 (with a death, stupid early Newborn) yesterday, so hopefully I can take SS down pretty far.
