I finally got fed up with the game crashing during my single segment speedruns so now I just use the wii instead and it hasn't crashed since. It used to be the most aggravating of them all. Oh yeah, forgot to mention the time the game crashed coming from Tower of Light. This only happened once, ever, and it was during a single segment speedrun.

Wow, never have I had a crash when playing on the Wii. I remember once when using the game cube, the game crashed 12 times in a row when trying to enter Furnace. I just stopped and played something else but I should have continued to see how many times it would crash.

I don't really know why but literally every time I try to load more than a couple doors on my Wii the thing shits it's pants :^/

That's really strange. You should make a video showing that.

Just beat this game the other day because some friends didn't think I could waltz through the game as fast as i claimed i could. It had been quite a while since i had done 100% but i got a 2:10. It would have been a lot faster but with friends watching I had to stop and explain some tricks and do the trick again sometimes letting them try also not to mention forgetting xray on my second pass through gth and having to back track from the power bomb room to get it. I forgot how much fun this game could be after not touching it for a while.

baby's wii's laser is dying. i know because mine had the same problem and eventually it didn't read any disc.

a good working wii is very reliable and won't crash on mp1 under normal circumstances. same can't be said about GC where you get crashes sometimes even if the GC is in perfect shape.

btw, i've forgotten the x-ray visor a few times when trying to beat the game in 1 sitting.

Tate, I too just finished with a 2:10.  Mine was Trilogy's Prime though.  Early PB exp route.  Never could get SJF.  Pretty sure I'm done running Prime altogether now....will wait on Other M.

Aww, Sterrance!
Just got my best time so far (4:11 88%).  It's a great improvement on my last time, which was somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 hours.

1:39 is a very great time for the trilogy version. It's actually my speedrun record which took me a while to make. What was the route that you used?

The fact that it tells you what your total time is at the end of the game challenges some people to see how fast they can finish, especially if you've played it without haste enough times to get bored with it.  This site is more or less dedicated to that challenge vs. simple walkthroughs, item locations, etc.

I tried three runs last night, no internet. >.<

1st: 2:14
2nd: 1:59
3rd: 2:01

I think pretty good. The first I messed up big time, I fell once in the room before Plasma, and messed up in the Gravity Chamber. >:O

You should also consider that this site is built around speedrunning.

Maybe 1:16 has been achieved a few times, with differing percentages.

PAL single-segment hard 100% : 2:09

I did it last summer and been trying it for weeks. I was trying to get the best time achievable on this mode which is imo 1:55 (I used Zoid's, StefanVanDijke's and Pirate109's times as references and made a rough estimation). Unfortunately, there's no way I can shave 14 mins from my best time Crying or Very sad. Wishing the best to whoever attempt this.

Wow. That is actually an amazing time. Good job.
