After referencing several internet walkthroughs, it would appear that I got into the Wrecked Ship before I was supposed to.

(Items Required: Speed Booster, High-Jump Boots)

In the room just before the grapple-water pit, I built a speed charge from the door, and stopped just short of the rock formation ahead. After opening the door, I shinesparked through the next room, bypassing the need for the Grappling Beam or the Space Jump.

In the Wrecked Ship Crateria entrance, I backed up to the door, and ran toward the water. Just short of falling in, I somersaulted forward and walljumped up the side of a platform. After that, I built another run and did another jump, walljumping up the next one. After that, I just ran and jumped into the wall, and held right until I landed on the third platform from the door. (Had to be careful of the jetpack Ripper, though.)

I got a Reserve Tank and the Gravity Suit, and beat Phantoon with four energy tanks, one-hundred missiles, twenty-five super missiles, and fifteen power bombs.

Yeah, but I thought the shinespark in Scarlet and Smokey's method was through the grapple pit and the Wrecked Ship entrance.

This could be an alternate method.

This was know, although it's not used because there is a faster way.

I like Big Butts and I can not lie
You don't even need speed booster or hi-jump boots

Sorry, but this is very well-known. Also, the lake is crossable with some tricky bomb jumping. See Terimakasih's low% TAS if you're interested.

Hmm... this may forever change the way speed runs are done... though I myself prefer to just shoot a super missile in that room with the missile pack and shinespark through.
