I was recently playing through this game once again, and was at the part after you get the ice beam/speed booster, and thought maybe the you could get through this part faster. I haven't seen this listed in the speed tricks section, or smokey's 14% do it. However, I'm not even sure if it's possible to do. I don't have enough skill, but maybe someone else may... I'll do my best to explain it.
This possible speed trick takes place in the six horizontal rooms towards the elevator to go down to norfair. I started at the elevator room and went into the room to the left. This is the room right of the tube that you would powerbomb to get to Maridia. I opened the blue hatch on the left, moved all the way to right, and started to quick charge. I continued this past the tube room, and in the middle of the third room, ducked down to prepare the shinespark. I then moved the the room to the left. This room contained two of the green, stretching grapplers (one on each side of the room), the green plant that shoots five needles (right, top-right, top, top-left, left directions) and has reddish walls. This is the part I'm stuck at, but if I could utilize the technique found in this video...

killing the green plant thing, then shooting a weapon across the room so it would hit the hatch, then shinespark through two rooms.
I wonder if this is possible, as I haven't seen it been done before.
I hope I was clear on the explanations.
Thanks in advance to anyone who read and/or tried this out to see if it works.
