Just thought of this. Some speedrunners seem to be excellent at strutter walking on console, so let's say that you're doing a segmented run. Couldn't you use this way to finish Phantoon quicker? If not 1 then maybe 2 round kill. I tried this several times today but couldn't get a 2 round kill, always 3 even with this way.

Why isn't this thought of? And if it has been discussed, why isn't it used anywhere?

5 bucks say some experienced TASer like Moozooh comes in and points out 10 reasons why this wouldn't work. laugh new

Sorry, but it wouldn't work. One-rounding requires pressing the shoot button every ten frames exactly when firing the missiles, and the preciseness of the forward movement also wouldn't be possible.

Two-rounding Phantoon on console is possible, though, as Azor showed, using a well-timed wave beam shield.

The shudder walk isn't the issue. Like blueglass said, it is the rapid fire missiles. I have actually gotten all 19 missiles in 1 round, in real time, but with the use of turbo buttons for the missiles. I would say that 2 rounds is very possible on a console (with missiles, not with wave beam combo), you just need to be able to press the fire button incredibly fast.
