no, i think you need to kill draygon or the door doesnt open to get to them. besides, you cant get out of draygon's room without the gravity suit, because you cant space jump or IBJ under water without it.
I'm pretty sure it's possible to do a suitless run, the tool-assisted video I was talking about can be found at bisqwit's discussion forums, but don't even bother if you're not into tool-assisted videos.
You wont gain any height from walljumping underwater without the gravity suit.
Are you sure about the walljump w/o grav? what about nbmb after passing into the quicksand rooms. I hope you know what i mean, when scarlet wants to get the pb
To playback this run you will need nitsujas modified Snes9x-improvement version which you can get on my site in the snes9x section or on bisqwits site. Check the forum there.
I also wonder how do you want to get out of the next room after killing Draygon without Graphity. Walljumping don't work in water. I already asked for that, but no one could give a clear explanation of this (I thought we are in a Super Metroid Forum).
About Draygon without Gravity Suit: it is possible to beat Draygon (and the rest of the game) without it. You have to wait for Draygon to grab you, then make him let go of you over the top-right corner of the room (by the door, you know?). The trickiest thing is that you have to kill Draygon while performing a Crystal Flash. This causes you to get a blue suit effect when Draygon dies. In the room before Draygon's, you have to shinespark up to the top. For the rest of Maridia, just freezing enemies and stuff works. Do not know if getting the Plasma Beam is possible, but I doubt it... the room three rooms before the Plasma room requires you to go up one of two shafts to continue, and neither have many enemies to freeze in them, IIRC.
Yeah, but wouldn't the Shinespark without Graphity be too slow in the water (like in sand) so that you lose all your energy before reaching the top of the room?
I'm sorry but it seems like some people are deaf here or something...
Is it really that hard to answer to a question? Just wondering.
Is it really that hard to use the search function? Just wondering because searching for "Draygon" and "shinespark" yielded an easily managed six results, one of which has a fair amount of discussion on this topic. That's assuming you're referring to your question about getting out of the room next to Draygon's without Gravity Suit, of course.
The shinespark is apparently unaffected by being underwater, even without gravity suit -- not much of a surprise since it's not normally possible to get a spark in water.
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder

>_< I wish that you could expect stuff like that, but at times it seems the programmers for Super Metroid are unbelievably paranoid. Just look at the Chozo in Lower Norfair that checks for the Space Jump.
::edit:: and no, super jumps aren't affected by water at all. And those shafts mentioned are above water... assuming you can kill Draygon and get back out, it's a piece of cake (relatively) to nab the Plasma Beam without the Gravity Suit.
And then it's feasibly possible to nab the Plasma Beam without killing Draygon AND without the Gravity Suit, but I don't think anyone's done that yet. Of course, it requires a number of drastic glitches to pull off, so many people may not consider it legit.
But I think all that's moot, since you waste so much time doing all that to save very little time against Phantoon.
You can wall jump underwater without gravity, and even off of one wall, and even without high jump boots. But it gets drastically harder at each point; wall jumping off of two walls (ala PB #66) is tedious and a single slip of a button can completely mess you up, wall jumping off of a single wall requires (on top of normal wall jumping) very rapid turning around at precise times to control Samus's motion, and doing it without high jump boots requires nigh-perfection and insane amounts of button-pressing to go up even one pixel. Underwater one-wall walljumping without high jump boots isn't really humanly possible. And then there's getting walljumping from underwater to *out* of water, where everything gets bumped up a notch in difficulty. I doubt it's humanly possible to do it with a single wall, but I know it's technically possible. I doubt it's possible at all to do it without the high jump boots, though.
That sounds alot better, thanks after all. Didn't knew that before.
It's obiously I ment this question, chanoire. I don't see a point why I should waste time to search and read thousands of posts to find only one answer (not even sure if there is one) to this case instead of just asking it.
