Alright so far it has been all talk and no play but now is my time to shine.
I have snagged myself a dvd recorder and i am going to try my hardest to find a working super metroid cart.

Just to update everyone, my last pal run was a :35 segmented W/O a recording.

I am still guessing that :35 would make sda.

35! MINUTES PAL? aiwebs_016

I really want see this one. Cpadolf say PAL is 3.30-4 minutes slower than US versio. I can think 35 is lowest possible time on PAL.

Looks like 32+4=36 mintues

Your run must be looks 31 minutes in US- versio. It is one minutes faster than Hotarubi WR.

I remeber Azor got 31 minutes with NTSC, he don,t never recorded that. If you recorded that PAL versio run. It is even cooler than Azor run, because PAL versio is harder too.

Good luck with your, near impossible run.  Wink

No one said I didn't >_>

I did the ceres segment but after my VHS began acting funny, now it randomly screws the tape and although I could make something out of it it would have terrible quality. I'm thinking of using a DVD recorded but I have no idea of how it works. Will I have to buy many DVDs if I restart a lot?

No idea... someone really needs to record a sub-40 PAL .smv so we can settle this damn thing.

If you use DVD RW, you'll only need one DVD.

:35 will make it to SDA. Cpadolf said that with Torizo skip the difference between NTSC and PAL runs are ~03:30min. And assuming this run used the torizo skip, it makes this run just about :31 mins on NTSC I think. Plus PAL-version does not have any runs on the moment, so I don't see any reason why such a quality run wouldn't be accepted.

sweet. I just jot news that my auntie has a copy of it so I should be getting it as soon as they find somewhere to live.

It is in melbourne and as soon as they find somewhere to live in queensland they are going to bring all of their stuff up.
Including super metroid.

I'd love to just take his word for it, but something just doesn't add up, like how half of the time difference comes from the last 5 minutes of the game. Nobody (save the runners themselves) has ever seen a sub-40 PAL run, so how are we supposed to know how optimized they really are? It would be a shame for Max to record his run and send it in, only to find out that it isn't good enough.

Hmm I guess that when my TAS is finished I could make a PAL run and show you what a ~35 run would look like.

EDIT: Actually I could probably do it so it's done by the weekend, I even think that I could do it with turbo armpump without reaching sub 34...

well at the moment i am recording an emulator run on super metroid (E) rom

Ceres done so far with a high minute.

I can't manage to do the torizo skip on emulator so i'm gonna leave that out.

I'll upload it later. It's in .zmv format.

Edit: here we are.

DVDRWs are supposed to take care of that problem without quality loss.

Can't do bloody second segment
Fail at torizo or kraid.
