Previously known as 2 round.

I decided I am going to use a webcam, eventually, to record this. So, it may be postponed for a long time.

I am going to post it as soon as I can get it recorded.

Well, since you are the only one who has answered so far, I suppose I will believe you. Anyway, here is the vid.

Yeah, IIRC stands for if I recall/remember correctly.

Anyway, I actually tested this out for once and it seems a lot more manageable than I imagined, if you have charge+wave+ice/charge+ice+spazer at least, it should be a lot harder without that (which you need to do if you are to go to WS first in a speedrun), not that it by any standards is easy to pull this of still. Good job on making it. A tip though, you only need to get 5-6 missiles in when running at him. 4 charged shots + 2 missiles does a total of 920 damage, leaving him with 1580, and a super does 600. So you don't really even need to stutter walk, just walk towards him and hit him with as many missiles as you can the first round (and keep count of how many times you hit him so you know how many needs to go in before the super on round 2) this should make it easier.

While working for a one-round fight is great, and I wish you luck, the two-round was done a while ago.  Hotarubi did it in his any% run, for example.  He didn't attempt the stutter / missile method, but it was still two-round.

You can see it below, at 2:50.

Well yeah, I thought the question here was whether or not you could do it with just missiles, or at least without a PB shield.

Nice work!

But just so you know, the 2-round with missiles is as revered as it is because of the combination with the 1/9 chance of getting his quickest patterns (Not to mention the CWJ at the beginning of the segment) ... using a savestate after you have the first pattern makes it seem sort of pointless. Though 11 missiles is more than I thought you could get in on him!

Did you use a controller or keyboard?

I use a controller. I can't play worth anything with a keyboard and it seems kind of pointless to use a keyboard to play any game. Especially this one if I plan to use a console run.

Btw, I am 1 rounding him next time.

Or has that been done before? Because I want to know if I should even try. I am almost certain that I can get it done, of course using the same first 2 beams, since it is the maximum amount of damage possible without making him run.

Hasn't been done before. But for a 1 round I'd need a "external" video showing the game and the controller in your hand while you do it to believe it, just because it is such an extreme feat (and I mean, if you where to actually do it wouldn't you want a video that can't be accused of cheating anyway?).

I've done ws first 2-round with missiles once or twice before. Not fun.

Wouldn't it also be a case of the risk being too high for a run anyway?  If the odds or you hitting him with 10+ were 1 in four hours, then it'd make a run all but impossible without restarting.  It may have to be another trick for a segmented run.  Good luck, though! Very Happy

Yeah well, I don't plan to do a 1 segment. Also, when I do mine, I am going to save before the ship and right after I finish Phantoon. I am not risking losing that stunt. It will save at least 20 seconds off of Hotarubi's.

Well, you seem to have a hard time believing anything! You are right though. I will get a webcam whenever I can.

It's not exactly a hard time believing, it's just a case of hearing so many claims in the past relating to this game that people have reached a point where it's either provided with evidence or it didn't happen. Very Happy

No worries. I will do it whenever I can. I would have practiced some, but I went to a club tonight. Was frigen fun as hell. Danced with 2 chicks at once.
