Yeah, "i'll let someone else do echoes" sure was a great plan. >_> Especially since all new run threads are announcements, which most people can't do...

Still was an impressive run.  I'm kind of glad we got a SW run in on the other side of the flickerball breakage.  And by we I mean thank you for the run.  Can't wait to see the new low and any percents if you get around to them.

I'm waiting for when he perfects the Item skip run. XD

I saw him attempting this run so many times the only difference between my memory and this would be how many times he gets hit. (likely)

I wanted high quality, so I let it load overnight.  Buckling down to watch in 3...2...1...

EDIT: Okay, guess this computer can't handle quality of that magnitude.  Loading the Normal Quality version in 3...2...1...

i watched it again in HQ now and it was as good as when i watched it the first time. it actually surprised me sometimes again since so many things went so good that it is almost unreal.

I was impressed with the level of execution you kept throughout the entire run and some of the things you managed to pull off even in a single-segment run. Great run and congrats.

Sequence breaks are so sexy.  Why does Nintendo insist on removing them?

That... is a very good question. If only it actually had a good answer. Unfortunately, it does not.

Sequence Breaks as those at M2k2 have known them are programming errors or unintended glitches in game physics.
It means they didn't do their job correctly. So they try their best to remove them.

In terms of the Zero Mission SBs... it's a LOT harder to tell a story when things can be "read" out of order.
"And so Samus defeated Kraid and set off to face her neme-"
"Why didn't she use Super missles? They're much stronger, why didn't she use them?"
"W-Well we didn't think the players would find a way to get Super Missiles before Kraid...Now stop interrupting, I'm telling a story."

Which is why the story should be told in the manuals and scan data.  Those who like story (which I do) can have it, and those who are more action-oriented can ram Super Missiles down Kraid's fat gullet.
Smooth running. Pleasure to watch.

Should have said it before, but I don't disagree.

Particularly in a game series that's known for not having a set sequence.

lol no way
I don't really think that's what metroid's known for though, is it? I don't know, maybe if you really know about how it's played, but a lot of people don't understand that that's something people do, is play games in different sequences. Most people don't really have much to say about metroid, anyway that I've met IRL who play games. I mean internet people are a different story but I still don't really think people in general view metroid as great because it's without a set sequence. Pretty much none of the games since super have had more than one set way to progress, except sort of MZM. It's only really obscure communities like us who are aware of what it takes to do things in any different order.

i know people who see doing things out of sequence as bad.

We all that type of person.  We know them too well - they're in charge at Retro and Nintendo.
