fuck it. ive tried patching it in 3 different ways (including through smile). Same thing.
I even checked the room out in smile, it's not the picture you showed me. And every other room has your modifications. I've also tried to patch it with 3 different unheadered roms, including the (JU)! version.
Just to let you know (and not to rub it in), I've never had issues with hacks except yours, and every single one youve made at that. lol

Every other room is correct though?  Maybe just edit those specific tiles and keep playing.

That won't work Xaggoth. That room has a lot of tiles different than the original, and if I were to give a complete map of the room, it would spoil 2 puzzles for people.

Also, its highly unlikely that no other room is corrupted/unchanged.

The only thing I can think of is that you have another IPS patch with the same name as the ROM you're using. Accidental soft-patching might cause that bug.

True, I wouldn't know, I didn't design it. This leads me to think I've already traversed rooms that aren't exactly what you made. I didn't check any other rooms in SMILE, simply because that's not something I do with other peoples hacks. That said, I don't think I've encountered problematic rooms 'cause each room I've explored so far has it's own flavor and challenges (which btw I think are absolutely brilliant!). I'll give patching this another try later. It may mean finding another rom again, like every time I try to play one of your hacks. I don't like rom hunting because of those bullshit sites with popups coming out the arse. I'll try and slsk one.

I wonder if anyone at #jzd knows where to look. *hint hint*

Exactly.  That's why I love hacks with headered and unheadered version.  The only good ROM I have is a headered one, as for a long time it seems like all the hacks were for headered.

Now whenever I need to find an unheadered I have a terrible time and the sites are awful to navigate.

Well, I wished there was a program which can adjust header settings in general (like, not Super Metroid alone) without damaging the ROM.

And as always, the last thing you want while searching for some ROMs is a shitload of popups and the law getting in your face.

Just get a hex editor and delete the first $200 bytes. SMILE can also remove headers.

Wait, wait. We delete the row(s) with the $200 header data?

Yes. All you need to do to remove a header is delete the first 512 bytes of the file.
I've always wondered, why do ROMs often have headers? Never seen one serve a purpose.

Is there anything useful in the X-ray room because trying to remove this single speed block is getting really annoying.  :|

There's a couple of missile tanks hidden by totally random grapple blocks too. What a jerk, right?

This is reminding me more and more of impossible.  :-D

\/\/\/ I meant the hiding stuff inside grapple blocks, mostly. There is alot of water though, even in norfair! Plus boiling water too, which I thought was pretty awesome.

This is a technique-based hack, not a hack that pushes you to the limit of smashing your computer.

And I thought by the name of Soup, I thought this would be an extensive water-based hack. I might be wrong, I died too easily before I could find out.

Well, hidden grapple blocks and hidden super missle blocks are the only ones safe from the wrath of a pb, so I use them.

Nothing necessary is behind a hidden grapple, (well, cept the plasma beam, and only sorta) so I expect people to get the xray, then figure it out by combing areas. 82-84% isn't supposed to be easy.

Slaan, glad you enjoyed it. I'd recommend you try out SM: Gravy if you haven't yet.

playerman1230, you should give it another try.
Even though the name and amount of water in Soup were unrelated, you make a decent point.

Couldn't have said it better myself, though there is also a super missle hidden behind one that I'd be willing to bet none of you have found yet. And its not even random, there's a clue.

3:23 70%.  I think the only blatant back track I did was after I got rid of those barriers I went back and recharged, then came back to finish the job.  That's the only time I've ever done that. :|

I barely got the best ending XD. Excellent hack Cardweaver! I may like this more than Gravy.

Does the ice beam even exist?

Beat it.

Nice hack; first one of yours that I have actually beaten. >_>
The wave beam trap was especially surprising, funny, frightening, happy, sad, and a little gassy.
