Neither 1.23 nor 1.32 ever gave me crashes for double-clicking the tileset sheet or for loading rooms (unless of course I broke the room). Uh, it sounds like there's some other common denominator at work here... I'm pretty sure that's not normal behavior in any case.

Next time you get a seemingly random crash, make a note of what error code you're getting--that might be helpful in pinning it down. You shouldn't be having rando-crashness, that's no fun.

I never get random crashes with 1.0

What I do is use 1.0 for most of everything, and then use 1.32 for the new features. Well, and I'm too lazy to change the shortcut on my task bar...

I'm glad you like it so far Rothlenar; you'd probably like Gravy too. As for Puddin', a lot of people didn't like it, but some did.

Okay, after a bit of playing around in Soup I've made an 'ideal' speed run of it.

Savestates are used just so I could find things for the segmented deal that I will do later on. I can't kagoball to save my life  laugh new

I will get the real run in the works next week.

I had trouble with the double-clicking the tile palette, too, but that bug disappeared when I got 1.23. Interesting.

Well Sneaky, thats quite good. You had me nervous a lot of times when your energy got quite low.

The one thing I thought was very interesting is that out of most of the bosses, the one you had the most energy for was GT. (you nearly died for Kraid and Botwoon)

That, and awesome Metroid skip. I've never been able to do it.

Hahaha, I love keeping people at the edge of their seat. I was never worried about dying, I know how to dodge things if I need to. Speed is my top priority though. I've had much worse fights.

I never had to open a savestate for the bosses, I was just using them to get my big tricks down.
Yeah, I'm aware of the GT thing. GT and Ridley are the hardest although Ridley is more random.

Next week I'll get started on a much more clean, pretty-looking, segmented run.
Some of the tricks are just a wee bit too hard to do in single segment (ice beam speed ball  Evil or Very Mad )

I didn't know that the icebeam/speedball was possible without the water slowing down the speedbooster.

Man, I did it that way without knowing I was supposed to turn off gravity. Hella hard.

You can actually make it all the way to the door without doing a single spring jump. Not that easy though.

Actually, that makes sense because in the original, you were supposed to so a speedbosting jump to get there.

I should have been more clear.

Without a spring jump on a platform. There is no way you could get there in biped form  laugh new

Yeah, I was scratching my head on that one, hehe. Short short charge might be able to do it I guess, but I'm no frame advancer.

I've done it in real-time. It takes near perfect timing.

Oh yeah.  I did that.  But still with slo-mo.

Using the water is like Scarlets(?) shine spark technique to get to the Chozo statue in WS.  :-?

I watched your SMV (Sneaky Paradox) and I learned a couple new things.  :)

For one... I didn't know you could get that much momentum with a short grapple length.

Yeah, water is tricky that way. All you need is a small boost and ZOOM!

Okay, I stand corrected. We need a sticky that says "there is no good reason to use anything but 1.32 unless maybe you want to edit map tiles using the old mapper for some reason."

Huh. I wonder if topics can have names that long.

I had no notice that SMILE had been updated (of course, I was gone for a while, too).

I'm still looking for the 5th reserve tank (still having trouble even after looking at your post concerning that, Cardweaver).

Otherwise I'm sitting at 14E 4R 180M 18SM 14 PB and All Powerups (Including X-Ray).

EDIT: It'll be awhile before I can get back to this. College homework will be imperative for a few days.

Woo-hoo!  Finally beat Soup!

3:28, 51%

I had the same problem that DMantra had with it not patching right, but with ver 1.1, it worked correctly.  As soon as I got 1.1, I finally figured out were to go and finished the game quickly after that!

I'm glad I didn't have to fight Dragoon normally though... without that grapple trick it would have been hell!

Great game Cardweaver!  I might just go and finish gravy now!  Maybe...  Hopefully you'll make a full hack someday!

I might consider getting all the items later. There are some "obvious" things to at least look at (e.g. Old Ice Beam area).

Grats, though its funny that the one place you mention is completely nonexistant in Soup.

Sorry about that. I'll fix it later to correct the order, but I think I was too distracted by the prospect of blue doors and 72 minute (or whatever) timer during the escape when you posted to put you on the list.

Hey, it distracted me for nearly 72 minutes  :P
