Too bad it's the only one other than Fusion that has the Metroid evolutions in it or even mentions them at all. (Unless they're hidden away somewhere in Other M.) I'm still waiting for those beasts to show up in a 3D setting.
It's after RoS, and Samus was surprised to see Metroids on the BSL.
Yeah, but you never know. They could pull some crazy plot twist on us or something. Granted, I don't really expect them to show up either, but I'm not entirely ruling out the possibility.
I'd say Metroid and ROS are the only two where they're absolutely necessary to finish the game beyond missile doors or other special circumstances. (Supers in the Prime series, seekers, ice missiles, etc.)
Doh, right. In that case, yeah. Can't think of anything besides Mother Brain (first form) and the metroid evolutions (if you can call those bosses) where they are the only weapon type that will work.
It's kinda odd looking at everyone's list and realizing how different all of our opinions are for the most part. (More than I had realized based on previous conversations) Looks like Prime is the overall winner though as far as most popular goes, seeing as it's the only Metroid game that's in the top 3 for nearly everyone.
prime is the OOT of metroid, it was the first 3d game of the series, and a very good one too, retro really did a good job doing it, it's was so good in fact, that the one made by nintendo itself (other M) is not as good (i mean, DBZ aura, strange weapon system, linearity and such) and this is rare, in fact, it's a first in the hystory of nintendo
except in my opinion, in wich minish cap is the best zelda ever, and it was made by capcom...
PS: you don't need missiles to fight any bosses in the prime series, in fact, i almost never use missles on the prime series (the only time i used them is on omega pirate, won the battle with 2 HP, it was insane, i shot him, he shot me, but mine got first an i was saved by the cutscene...)
It's not apparent what with everyone on this site playing the GCN version and being used to all the sequence breaks, but Prime is extremely linear if one doesn't exploit glitches. Try playing the Trilogy version.
when i say linear, i am saying that you got to area, and you can't go back if you want, you will go back someother time, ok, but if you want to go right now, you can't
like in fusion, where ADAM just closed the doors that you shouldn't be entering... if other M is not like that, then i take it back, but what i've seen in the reviews, you can't go back after you get to somewhere, until you trigger a event that will unlock the door again...
every game is linear, aside the ones devoid of any story.
