Sesshomaru is.  He's doing a no-hit-1% run (excluding the fact that the Omega Metroid hits you, of course)

I think I heard somewhere that someone played for 2 days straight and his gamecube started melting, but he played.. Exclamation

I've had my GameCube on for over 4 days while breaking a Super Monkey Ball world record (11,069,384 expert normal mode score).  It never started melting or anything, but it hasn't been working perfectly since then, either.  It usually takes a few minutes for games to work now.  When you put a game in and turn on the system, it will almost always make a weird buzzing noise and it will say "no disc" even though a disc is clearly in there.  So you just have to try it until it finally reads it.  Annoying, to say the least  :x

That's funny... I was just thinking that Packattack started to have problems with his GC a little while (a few months?) after his long expert mode run. I've never had my GC on for multiple days but I have left it on over night a few times close together when playing SSBM. I had to increase my total multiplayer time played to unlock some stuff. I'm happy that my cube still works fine.

My cube's never given me any trouble through a few overnight runs, though never a 24-hour stretch. I don't see why anybody would need it on that long...

Super Smash Bros. Melee. There's one trophy you get by...um...well I dunno, just that you need your GC on for a long time...

Impossible.  The Ventelation Shaft is filled with poison, and you can't avoid it.  It gives you like 5 damage though.

By getting x-ray and plasma early, you can make it so you only visit that room once though. But if you don't do that, yeah, I don't remember there being a way to avoid damage.

You might not need either of those if you have a power bomb expansion on the first visit. I was thinking you would drop down and use it, then scan that thing before the gas starts to hurt you (takes a while if I remember right).
