I'm not sure that is this a new sequence break, but anyway:Rolling Eyes
If you want the Energy Tank without draining any energy In Crocomire's room,Just go to far left, and run like a madman until you shinespark,Okay, don't stop, run to the edge and jump as far as you can go,Until you hit the wall, now make a wall jump and ta-dah: You've got an energy tank. (If you still have the shinespark, you can easily go back by jumping and making the "Comin' thru!!!" Jump as you would normally do to get the E-tank the hard way)

Unless I'm mistaken, Energy Tanks restore all your energy, so even if you DO shinespark, you'll be instantlye healed.

I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
And doing a spark takes away energy, so doing one to the left after getting the E-Tank would really sap away energy.

As well as if you wanted to be able to spark back after getting the E-Tank, you would have to watch Croco die, then run way over to the left, then to the right, so it'd slow one down.  :?

i've noticed newbs tend to put in pointless polls to get people to look at their topics.

No, I don't make polls to make people to go to my topics.
It's just that i want to.
Is it bad? Is it illegal? No,it isn't.
So why bother?

Copping an attitude with the owner of the forum, while not necessarily a punishable offense, is not a smart thing to do.

He might have meant it as an imperative, telling the reader to learn something new every day. ;)

indeed, specialized language is often confusing to those outside the group. afaik, dropping the subject in discourse, usually when the subject is 'i' or another easily inferred word, came directly from kip (in my case, anyway).

i meant 'i guess you learn something new every day,' as in the colloquialism. m.jelly told me that

and so i 'learned something new.'

Now you bring this up (well, sort of), what the hell does "AFAIK" stand for?

EDIT: Oh, bloody hell.  I post, and then 2 seconds later I realize it stands for "As far as I know".  Sod's law...

Er, thanks, but I got what you meant; the wink was intended to denote this.  The dropped first person subject is a very common English construction, after all (though it's undoubtedly called something else -- syntax was my least favorite linguistics class)...I was just suggesting an alternate and more literal interpretation to humorously (?) throw off the joking above.

I don't post much, not having much to contribute to this forum's raison d'être, but I read these boards frequently.  I am indeed outside the group, but for the most part the sampling of usages in the posts I read has seemed adequate for comprehension.  Unfortunately, there's no good way to indicate this without making more posts (which may be construed as pushing my way into a group to which I do not belong), so my joke, such as it was, got completely missed.  I think.  Lurking is a strange thing; one starts to feel that one is getting to know people through their posts but it's strictly one-way, which can make for odd disconnects.  An interesting phenomenon, not limited to the internet but probably far more widespread now.

don't worry! :P i was able to interpret your post just so, but something in my perfectionist, absolutist nature makes me try to right every potential wrong. thus, i also wasn't referring to you as an outsider - i was explaining how i arrived at the conclusion that you could have misunderstood my slangy drawl (or that someone else might, as well). kip's unconditional friendliness to everyone has also influenced me, and so i try to promote an air of helpfulness and friendship to random people around here. i understand that you are not quite so random, however.

oh, that old thing? :P i've since ripped the shift keys off of my keyboard and fed them to my pet Limulus polyphemus. it's a good thing it's saved in my sig or i'd have to paste it in every time.
