New Run Possibility?

This is a unique question concerning Super Metroid: Is it possible to kill Mother Brain with only missiles, super missiles, super bombs and the Hyper Beam? If this is a probable idea, then, could a new speed run be made using the rule that bosses/mini bosses can only be killed with missiles, super missiles and super bombs? This run would almost be a 100% run, for the sake of needing most if not all the expansions.

Please add your ideas for this suggestion, or for the next couple:

Can Mother Brain be killed with only the Charge Beam, and no other beam enhancers? If so, could a low% speedrun be made with rule that you only get what is necessary: One missile expansion, one super missile expansion, one superbomb expansion, the morph ball, morph ball bombs, varia suit, etc...

When Mother Brain is half-way defeated, she uses the Hyper Beam on Samus, inflicting hundreds of damage. If you went through the entire game with no energy tanks or reserve tanks and got to Mother Brain somehow, would you die when she used the Hyper Beam, or would she even use the Hyper Beam?

These are some random ideas and questions that I have been wondering for a while now, and would appreciate it if someone would shed some light for me. Also, if you have any "weird" run ideas, let me know.

This thread seems like it'll end up locked or moved to SM discussion. To answer your question, you certainly can kill every boss without using the charge beam. Basically it'd be a NBMB run, sans Charge Beam, then you'd go kill all the bosses.

Should tell you everything there is to know about low % run. If there is a Metroid game, someone has low %'d it.

Uhm, X-ray climbing is probably abusable for an even lower %, actually... I -think- the lowest possible score with that was 9%, but I'm not sure.

MB's Hyper Beam does a minimum of 300 damage with Varia and 600 damage w/o it. And yes, she will kill you with the beam.

Every Bit Counts

The lowest % possible is 7%.

Morph Ball - Needed to get through small passages
Missiles -Needed open red doors
Bombs -Needed and break bombable walls and to bomb jump into the Tourian elevator
Super Missiles - Needed to open Red and Green Doors
Powerbombs -Needed to open yellow doors and kill Metroids in Tourian
Speed Booster - Needed to get a correct position in the Statue room door (you would need to crystal flash otherwise to get past a stuborn ceiling)
X-Ray - Needed to do OORT (Out Of Room Travel) to get into Tourian without beating any other boss and to skip Mother Brain

You get speed booster without Varia or any E-Tanks with Pause Screen Abuse, which is basically going into the pause screen repeataltly to stay alive at 0 health. You can get to Mother Brain without E-Tanks this way or just go through the game with 0 of them. She will do 300 damage with Varia and 600 without Varia. You can get stuck in Tourian if you save at the save point closest to Mother Brain with 2 or less E-Tanks or 5 or less E-Tanks and no Varia.

The lowest % possible is 7%.
