with the new forum, everyone gets a custom title (just set it up in your profile). but what about bringing the old post count-dependent ranks back? they were:

Metroid Larva (0 posts)
Alpha Metroid (25 posts)
Gamma Metroid (50 posts)
Zeta Metroid (100 posts)
Omega Metroid (200 posts)
Metroid Prime (500 posts)
Metroid Queen (1000 posts)
Mother Brain (2000 posts)

or, we can go to something new ... in any case, the default set ("hero member"?) has to go.

I could go either way on this. On the one hand, I did like the fact that no one made a big deal about the rankings when they didn't exist, but it also might be fun to see some new rankings. Whatever everyone wants.

As long as custom titles are still available, I say use what you posted (for those who choose not to set it)
But custom titles should be displayed instead of the regular rank, not in addition to.

I'd have to vote for the old ranks personally.

The only problem with a ranking system is people get the idea that they need to post in every topic with or without a contribution just to get their rank up. I don't believe M2K2 will have a problem with condescension, because it wasn't a real problem before, just have to make sure that everyone knows that if they try to pull a stunt like that they will be universally loathed.
