Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Already looked at this this morning. =P

Unfortunately it desynched on 1.43 v9, and v15.3.  Both times, it was at the first door in the landing site.  Gutted, as I've been looking forward to this. =C

EDIT: Also tried rerecordingv17  svn106, with no luck.

Been using this emulator for over 2 years, never had a desync. I've also never had any issues playing hacks or watching those TASes. All the TASers use this one so you should be set.

Yeah but you can't complete the game. There are two places in the game where you must have either Ice or Speedbooster to pass, the room before Botwoon and the Zebites in Mother Brains room. Technically though, you could come up with plenty of item combinations for a 14% finish if you use the X-ray or the Space/Time beam to finish the game, but that defeats the purpose of the run.

really? 20000 times? that's the same thing as playing for 555 days straight, beating the game in 40 minutes each time.

Very good run! You know, about 5 years ago, a run under hour seems almost fantastic...

And I have a question.

What items are needed to skip through Zebetites? Is the hitting by Rinka enough to skip through them?

And what the trick have you used in main shaft of Wrecked Ship? I.e., when you jumped through solid block. Is it possible to use it in room before Botwoon to avoid getting Speed Booster and finish the game with 13% (no Speed Booster, no Ice Beam, 3 Missile blocks and 1 Super Missile block if you can't warp through Zebetites)?

And talking about the tricks, I haven't saw a single weapon shot trick :P Although, it's not as usable in TAS as in "humanly" speedrun

You always need either the Ice Beam or the Speed Booster to complete the game (barring x-ray).

The room before Botwoon, and the Zebetites require one or the other.

Before Botwoon: Speed Booster breaks the blocks, as you probably know.  The Ice Beam can be used to freeze one of the jumping blobs, and then do the ceiling glitch you're on about to get through.

Zebetites: Ice Beam can be used to freeze one of the rinkas, so you can take damage to skip the rest - been done in nearly all speed runs since discovery.  The Speed Booster can be used to spark through, either by using it diagonally underneath the platorm, or the more buggy, but cool-looking way Spoofer did.

All of these are listed on the Main Site, don't ya know. =)

Yeah Quietus pretty much nailed it.

What is this single weapon shot you are talking of? O.o
