Yesterday I finished a 100% TAS of this game. Final ingame completion time is 42:07, although I aimed primarily for fastest actual time, which is 1:01:08. In order to save time writing I'll merely link to my submission on Tasvideos and the Youtube playlist.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Great run, Cpadolf! (As always)

Highlights for me:

Room wrapping Very Happy
Tourian escape shaft - could barely see the grip animations, so it looked like Samus was moon-jumping!
Mua's death screech! laugh new

Minor gripe: I know you get it automatically when you get the Fully-Powered Suit, but I'd have preferred it if you had collected the Varia.

Wouldn't that have wasted time?

It's just my personal preference.  It would have made the acquisition of the 100% grade slower, but he would have actually collected 100% of the items.  I'd prefer that the idea of 100% included the collection of all items, but since it's not necessary here, I can understand it not being collected.

Nice. Very Nice. I like it alot. Well done. I like how much you abused the shuttlebuging from un-morphing. =D

I've seen alot of lazy Tas runs and this is anything but lazy.

IMO a poorly done TAS doesn't even count as a TAS, but I'm not even a TASer, so I guess my opinion doesn't have much to back it up. >.>

I suppose it depends on how you look at it.  Technically, a run using just save states is a tool assisted speedrun, but I know what you mean.  My opinion is that it must use frame advance, must be optimised to as high a degree as possible - often the more rerecords, the better - and it must use all of the impossible-for-humans tricks you can squeeze in. =D
