Can anyone explain to me in detail or show me a video of how to get the items after 73%? I know that all of them require traveling outside of the map. I was able to find this that talks about the 2 missiles by the wrecked ship.

http://forum.metroid2002.com/index.php/topic,2859.0.html

I heard that there's a way to get behind crocmire's wall but I have know idea how. I'm guessing getting kraid's e-tank is just x-ray climbing around the map til you get to the gray door. I have no idea about the plasma beam either. Are there any other items possible to get besides those?

And for some reason, the links that Kej put in some of his old topics don't work for me, like this one:

http://www.metroid2002.com/kejardon/NBMB75.zip

Anyways thanks for the help (in advance)

If I recall correctly, you can collect up to 98% boss/mini-bossless (25% requiring extreme out-of-bounds action). Most are ridiculously tough to navigate, I hear. Hopefully someone more experienced than I can help you further, but all I can say is Good luck.

IIRC the last time this came to discussion Kej dissmissed many more items then 2.

Allow me to teach you the application of than and then. Then is used in sentences like "If Samus dies, then you have to start over", look at the swedish word "d책", or the german word "dann". Than is used in sentences like "The plasma beam is more powerful than the power beam", swedish covalent is "채n" and the german is "als" or "wie". The metroid metaphors were used to still keep credibility and gain attention. Class dismissed.

As already stated, Kejardon will probably help you with this.

I do know the meaning of those words, but as everyone I make hasty mistakes. That one in particular is probably one of my more common though.

You can escape Torizo if you're playing the PAL version, but I doubt that helps since beating Torizo or not in a run is still a valid NBMB.

Yes and since you can enter tourian without killing all the big bosses and escape motherbrains room a high% NBMB is now actually completable on PAL, or in a NTSC version TAS.

I've never seen a NBMB before, and I'm curious how you would get to tourian without killing the four guardians?

X-ray climbing, Kejardon discovered this and finishing the game without killing mother brain and made it public on april 1st under a false name to make people think it was a joke.

Here is a link to the thread. You need the (E) ROM to watch the smv but there should be a link to a avi later in the thread if you can't find it.

After doing research, 98% isn't possible. pretty much all the items in WS aren't there until you defeat phantoon. I also heard it's impossible to get the varia suit because of kraid's "omnipresent hitbox". There might be other stuff unobtainable but I can't find stuff on that.

And I'm on the NTSC if that helps.

Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
It would help if I actually had more than a passing interest in NBMB. Skipping grey doors usually relies on the principles explained here: http://drewseph.zophar.net/Kejardon/OORTravel/FAQ.html
The link at the bottom of that page leads to TileViewer, a handy program that lets you see all the blocks in the room in a ZSNES savestate. The map starts at offset 10000, and will most likely be recognizable when you see it. Also, one last thing that I never explained in the FAQ is Samus's room transition mechanics. Samus will always be moved in the next room to 1 screen behind the door, but her position on the screen will not change. The room transition will move Samus as the screen scrolls, and so ideally ends up in front of the door as you normally see in gameplay. Starting at a different position on the screen will end up with Samus appearing somewhere other than in front of the door. (Every 16x16 group of blocks = 1 screen)
Getting the 2 missiles outside of the wrecked ship involves manipulating a ghost to spawn near a particular spot, then freezing it at the right height. Then using the x-ray scope you can get Samus to stand through the door without actually triggering it, jump up, and then hit the door from the other side. Samus'll appear BELOW the next screen, then you get to run right a looong way to be able to walk onto the top of the grey door on the left. I don't remember many of the details, but I probably still have a zmv of it around somewhere. Also important is that you must pass through the giant room in Brinstar that contains the charge beam before you attempt this - this will cause some RAM to be cleared so Samus can jump through the top of the door without hitting a wall or something on the other side. AFAIK it doesn't matter what path you take to the wrecked ship though.
Crocomire's wall can be skipped by letting Crocomire jam you into his wall, then crystal flashing and x-ray scoping up out of the room. You can then go left and down, and enter the left door from the left. The next room will be kinda glitchy, but you can get into the save station room (fire point blank at the door) and it'll fix itself.
There is a bit of a dilemma with getting *back*. Currently the idea is to wall jump off the door leading to Crocomire's room, and then land on it so Samus is partially in the door but still standing, and then x-ray up out of the room. Head right and enter the door on top from above. There's a problem here because it depends on Samus walking through uninitialized RAM, so it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.
Kraid's energy tank can be gotten with a lot of effort - traveling outside of rooms for a while until you pass the grey door in the way. You start by x-ray scoping out of the room with mini-kraid, then super jump up to hit a certain glitched door block. And in the next room you have to hit another glitched door block I can't remember right now, but it has to be on the far right or left of a screen, so Samus can hit it while on the far right of the screen and trigger the tesselated door block behind the grey door on the next screen, instantly going to the energy tank room.
The plasma beam can be collected, start by getting stuck in the door on the bottom right and x-ray scoping up. You can get out in a hidden room behind the grey door then finish going up out of the room, then you have to travel right a loong way to get the grey door to move up far enough so you can hit it from above.
You can get the missile tank in Maridia blocked by two speed blocks. That is simply ridiculous though. To start with, you need to be in the room in Red Brinstar that has a green gate leading to Maridia. And you have to be on the Maridian side. That's the 'easy' part, if you've done other OOR stuff this shouldn't be too hard (or having grapple will let you get in there)
Next you need to do a short charge speedball into the small passage, then on the other side demorph and hold aim up. Doing so will keep Samus from losing her speed boost status. Then you have to do a series of jumping, morphing and moving forward, then demorphing immediately before landing and holding aim up to keep from losing speed boost. You can also use the x-ray scope to turn around, just don't let go of aim-up. From there, you make your way down and left to the missile tank without losing your boost, and then just jump into it.
Stuff behind Botwoon can likely be collected via full-screen murder beam to take advantage of semi-frozen nest enemies to tunnel through a grey door, but it might be impossible to get back out. I haven't actually looked at that yet.
Don't remember at the moment what other tricky NBMB items can be collected. Quick rundown of what CAN'T be collected:
Everything in the Wrecked Ship with a few exceptions (Seeing as they don't EXIST till Phantoon is dead I'm pretty sure no NBMB will ever collect them)
Varia Suit (Kraid's too fat)
Energy Tank behind Crocomire (He's too fat too. Power bombs / Plasma beam *almost* work though)
Energy tank behind Ridley (Can likely sneak past him to the tank, but there's no way back past his room)
Space Jump (Only because there's no apparent way past the grey door to the Space Jump. You can escape out the top right door without killing Draygon)
Spring Ball (sooooo close but just can't get it)
Speed block super / missile in Maridia (Just can't get speed underwater for that, and can't jump through blocks without gravity suit)

How about a rediciously long temporary blue suit from the red-brinstar-to-wrecked-ship-elevator room

It's possible to get into the room with a temporary blue suit, but there is no way to get to the items, because the bluesuit knocks the snails off the walls

Actually, surely you could just do an x-ray climb on that door right under the missiles

Can't climb the mountain without turning around in mid-air, which will cancel blue suit.
Underwater = no running momentum = probably impossible to get stuck in the door while standing. Might actually be possible in PAL though since Samus can move faster (or doors close slower depending on how you measure time. <_<)... that would take some testing.

It is very possible to get to the snail room with a temporary blue suit. Here is an smv.

Didn't think about that room for some reason. Guess you can get those two, then.
That might actually be an easier starting place for the other missile, too, since no OOR travel is required for it.

I don't think so, because while you can get the TBS into the room, you can not use the snails to climb up to the missiles because the blue suit knocks them off of the wall.

if you can't get them, Kej will probably make up, I mean umm... find, a new glitch to do something like make the water go away or trick the game into think you have the gravity suit. you never know what he'll do next. laugh new

I've been trying to get the kraid e-tank but I can't seem to find the right room transitions to get to it. I always end up in the room where the gray door is. Is there any way to know where a room transition leads or is it just trial and error?
