My friend linked me to a video showing someone skipping the Chozo statue that holds the bombs, and I was looking for confirmation from any site discussing it but found nothing. I was wondering if you guys could confirm/deny if it's real?

It is real, but only doable in a TAS (tool assisted speedrun) because you need to pick up the bombs at a ridiculus acurate position to have time to escape and also you need to press L or R 30 per second and jump with a margin of error at 0 frames. It is not even close to be possible in realtime, though in the PAL version of the game it is.
