Ditto to that.  I also love the planet-to-planet music.  The one you're on about is on there under 'Pirate Labs', the one I mentioned is the only one missing - however I'm finding it difficult to locate the other Skytown tune.

And I LOVE the save station pause menu sound on MP1.  Very hypnotic.

as groovemeister said, please find the seeker missile/metroid lab track as "pirate labs".

as for the "other skytown tune", i'm guessing you mean track 5, "tension" (used in many places throughout the game).

No, that's used on the Pirate Homeworld.  Half of Skytown just has a whole kind of ambience to it as opposed to the music with bells in it.  See this vid on Youtube after about 1:20 - it's not the same.

Also like I said, no planet-to-planet music. :(

oops, sorry, meant track 4 - gf calm. it's first used in the game intro, the first time you have control of samus outside of her ship.

and yeah, i guess the between planets music must be on either the vocal or sound effects tracks (like mission final is). however due to this it may be difficult to record them without sound effects. i'm short on time now but i'll look at it when i get the chance.

was looking at the list and there's one I don't see.. I only remember hearing it twice in the game. The first time is right after you kill those 3 pirates with the energy cell, it plays until you put it in. The second time is after you save the marine in the homeworld, it plays until the fight.

It's not tension or higher tension (which I don't remember hearing before landing on base zero, so seems like that one should be a bit further down.. unless it plays if you don't skip the cutscenes). Looking at the list, if it's in order it would be between space pirates and miniboss, but I looked down near where it plays the second time too.

Maybe someone can make a list of all the music not recorded yet and then request someone to record it?

The official European site http://metroidcorruption.nintendo-europe.com site launched a week ago. Nothing particularly interesting. You might want to stay away from the equipment section if (like me) you haven't finished the game. It has a music player ("not part of the actual in-game space ship") with 13 mp3 samples:

Interview with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Sound Team at Retro Studios and Composer Kenji Yamamoto
http://www.music4games.net/Features_Display.aspx?id=174

The interview goes into some detail on the technical improvements to sound as it is used in the game, for example added doppler effect and sound occlusion by objects.  It is a long, and good interview.

MP3 had the worst music of all the Prime titles, in my opinion.

Sure, it had some greats like Runda's battle theme and that awesome titlescreen theme, but Prime 2 and 1 had consistently great music (half of the level music in Prime 3 was just ambiance.)

I miss the Prime 1 miniboss theme.

lulz what?
Echoes' soundtrack was nearly all ambience while Corruption had a mix. I could understand liking Echoes' boss themes, but it's area themes were horrible. Prime's and Corruption's were far superior.

oh, i should probably check that out sometime. thanks.

edit: too bad, latest version still doesn't support that freq. i'll look at resampling and then reencoding everything when i get home from xmas vacation.

from http://www.jeroenwijering.com/extras/readme.html#support:

Quote:
If you encounter too fast or too slow playback of MP3 files or if your progressbar is messed up, your MP3 files contains variable bitrate encoding. Flash isn't very good at handling these, it's best to stick to constant bitrate encoding. Also make sure to stick to a sampling frequency that is a multitude of 11.025kHz (48kHz, for example, also poses problems). The free iTunes software has a basic, decent MP3 encoder.

ok, i was nice and reencoded everything at 44.1 khz so adobe's pathetic excuse for waveform decoding can figure out how to play the files properly. web player enabled. enjoy.

For anyone who wants to listen to MP/MP2E music at the best quality, flawless looping an a small filesize, read below.
1. Get in_cube.dll. It will allow you to listen to the streams of various Nintendo games, such as Super Smash Brothers Brawl '.brstm', Super Smash Brothers Melee, Kirby Air Ride, Killer7 '.HALPST' and many many others. The quality is flawless, but the catch is, you've either got to find someone who owns the game CD, so you can actually copy the files from the disc to your hard drive.
2. Put it to the WinAmp Plugins folder
3. Open the RSF (Metroid Prime 1) or RS03 (Metroid Prime 2) music files with WinAmp.
RSF is still experimental, but the plugin is really godly and I think everyone should use it.

In short; in_cube is a plugin that allows you to listen various songs from games you own at the fullest quality while retaining small file size. It's updated often, so keep a lookout, Prime 3 might get cracked soon enough.

Is there anywhere we can download the music files from different gamecube games?

Sorry for bumping, but hey, it's a sticky, and I've been looking for some mp3 music now that I've been playing it again. I've found three tracks missing from this list, and coincidently, all three were ones I wanted. Two have already been mentioned: the ship flight music and the music in the later portion of the olympus (from the airlock on), but there's also a third one, the leviathan music. The track listed "phazon" is only used in that room in bryyo where you get corrupted, and it's just a copy of phazon mines. The leviathan music takes that theme, throws in the late olympus theme mentioned earlier, and adds some other sounds as well. If anyone could get these, it would be great.
