A to 1: It is. A to 2: They tell where the Morph ball is. A to 3: Huh? What do you mean? A to 4: Thanks the palette looks like plain Crateria in this room.(FX1 Troubles)
3. See the solid area right in front of the right door in this room? Well, if you enter this room through that door, (if I'm right) with enough speed, you can get stuck inside those blocks
As for 1, what Tyjet is getting at is that players like to feel they're flowing through your hack. Having a room with square blocks, where you are forced to slow down can get frustrating in large doses.
Oh. I see, There is a Reason. This room is 2 doors before a boss(Crocomire..)so therefore I don't want you to kill yourself by Boosting into Acid. There will be slopes by this linked door but not enough to catch Speed.
It looks quite plain. If you're keeping it, I'd suggest adding some snazzy layer two to liven it up. Also, you've missed a square BTS block just above the ramp made solely of triangle BTS blocks.
I have Another Picture but I gotta wait 'till I get home to post it cause I'm (yet again) on a libray Comp. in School so, When I get home I'll Update my progress and The pictures, And show my Map off. I just need one more 1 Scroll room to link up and Have Crocomire battle done. 1 Question, Can Crocomire and Spore Spawn go anywhere in the places. Like can you move Croc. out of Norfair and Spore. out of Brinstar?
Your attention to detail has increased I can tell. Only two things I can point out. 1 - Background needs fixing. 2 - Having doors randomly placed in the middle of a room seems very unprofessional, I know it has been used in previous hacks but I have always seen it as unsightly and ugly.
Well, my suggestion to make that room more professional looking while still completing your purposes: make a morhpball passage with x amount of super missile blocks, I'm not sure what you mean about the gray door though.
As for the map, did you hide the hidden rooms (secret areas?)
Depending on what's wrong with it, one of the first suggestions is to replace it with the same room from the original game. Back up your ROM! Open an original ROM in SMILE, open the room you're on about, then open your ROM, but DON'T choose a room (you will still be seeing the room from the unedited ROM), and click save. See if that works first.
Backup your ROM Open an unedited ROM in SMILE Open the problem room - It will open fine since it's a new ROM Open your ROM Without changing rooms, click save.
I'd suggest giving your backup a specific name, so that if it all goes badly, even later on, you know where you're going back to.
Easiest way to back up your hack is just like how you'd back up anything on a computer. Either copy the files to another part of your computer, or onto a cd or flash drive. I tend to just copy everything to another folder and if something goes wrong with my main version I just copy the files from that backup into the folder where my main version is.
Yes, backup your ROM, as in copy it to somewhere else, so that you aren't just using one copy. You haven't been doing this, have you? That's how hacks get lost.
As well as what Prime Hunter suggested, I'd also recommend e-mailing it to yourself every now and again, or using something like Dropbox, for online storage.
