These are just a bunch of screenshots I threw together using Metroid game resources in the Source engine. I didn't post these in the gaming forum because this thread is strictly screenshots-only. No gameplay discussion whatsoever.
Anyway, Samus looks very nice, except the awkward head angle in the sixth one. HUD and visor definitely need work, though. I don't like the targeting thing (reticule?) for two reasons: It's too small and it isn't a very good design.
I like the first Samus model better than this shiny one. It doesn't look very good to me, and the lines are a little fuzzy.
They're actually the same model. The lighting conditions just affect how much the shaders show up. If you're referring to the second picture, she's supposed to be dizzy. If it's about the suit textures, I can't change that. Every graphics setting was on maximum for those screenshots.
I attempted to contact you through AIM and MSN but you weren't online. But seriously that is some badass job. Awesome work, man. And I'd be more than glad to see more of those resources. Any models at all would be definitely super awesome.
Ugh. Please, if you're going to use the PED suit, change up the design to make it less ugly.
Unfortunately, I'm not that talented. You're looking for Metroid_Menace on that one.
Anyway, I'm making a post-Fusion comic with this, but I'm not sure whether or not I should make a separate thread for it and keep my aimless renders here.
EDIT: Forgot to mention the first page is already done.
WOW! Now I want Garry's mod just for this XD oh wow but with the SA-X pic lose the head humper >_> he doesn't fit lol add more floating orbs of DOOM!! but I would like to see that SA-X vs Samus but in a Garry's mod aprouch that would be epic!
holy hell dude all you need to do now is set up the beams, visors, controls, and the morph ball function and it will be almost ready for a actual Metroid game in Source. Hell, you might even get money for your work
Nice to see interest in this topic has kept up despite the prolonged absence of its creator. I'll post new pictures, soon. I've gotten a lot better at ragdoll posing since I last posted.
And here is the long-awaited update! I've been testing different variations of Charge Beam-like effects, and I was reasonably satisfied with this one. Here's a showcase of it from three different perspectives:
