I feel considering the differences between the Wii de Asobou and Trilogy versions of the game this does indeed warrant it's own topic. I just started playing through the game and have already noted that the cutscene skip in Connection Elevator to Deck Beta still works. I will sure update with other findings that are posted.

Things to note:

• You can still BSJ, oddly enough.
• Pressing Z locks view, doesn't act like L.
• Game muchly resembles the GC EU/JAP versions of the game.
• Cutscenes (including those unskippable in the original NTSC version of the game) are skippable after you beat the game.
• Invisible block prevents from getting Ice Beam without Spider without using IBBF.
• They have appeared to have fixed the "Frigate Weirdness glitch" where you use a DBJ to clear the elevator in Cargo Freight Lift to Deck Gamma and do a bunch of weird crap to make the caps blow off and start the escape portion of frigate early.
• PQ dies a bit before its cutscene like in the EU/JAP version.
• The pirate that gets pwnt by the exploding cap during the escape sequence isn't there.
• Door before ridley opens properly, thank god.
• Fast grapple still works too.
• Invisible clipping by the last turret on frigate orpheon.
• Space Jump First dash works.
• Hive mecha rock/platform has changed completely.
• Hive Mecha's scan point is 'risen' like the EU/JAP version of the game.
• Missiles are like the EU/JAP versions of the game, NTSC's only missile is 3, a slightly cooler one is 5 and an even cooler one is 10.
• Incinerator Drone seemed to go very fast, I don't know why.
• Environmental Damage warining is the EU/JAP one.
• Removed the branches in Ruined Fountain that let you cross the room quickly without spacejump.
• "Door cannot be opened with that weapon" glitch with the bloodflower still works.
• Space Jump Early is still doable the GC method, but it's still hard.
• There's some strange lighting on the back of the turbines on samus' ship.
• The weird visor effect that's in place on MP3 is on MP1 too.
• Energy bar, Mini map, Radar, Beam and Visors dim when you cursor over them.
• Flaahgra music loops correctly.
• Artifact of Nature is still early getable.
• Puffers drop ultra energy, like in the EU/JAP version. (VMR? I hope so. That method didn't use dash jumps, or at least not many)
• Energy tank in the second last room to phendrana was lulzy, but the same otherwise.
• IBBF, though modified still!!!! works.
• Can still climb Frigate Crash Site.
• Charge beam bug still works which proves this is actually a heavily modified NTSC 0-00 Metroid Prime.
• Infinite Speed Bug has been fixed.
• They didn't fix the quick climb of Chozo Ice Temple.
• More proof it's NTSC: The big sheegoth's ice damage only freezes you on direct contact, UNLIKE the EU/JAP versions.
• You can still skip the Control Tower pirate fight and nab Elder early!
• Can still do Phendrana's Edge without grapple. Fail.
• Early PB at Phendrana's Edge was fixed - but can be circumvented easily.
• Plasma without grapple/spider = Plausible, but not suggested.
• Elite Pirate Battle can still be skipped easily.
• Elite Pirate before Central Dynamo can still be skipped too, I'm surpised, I got it first try.
• Another thing I noticed, Main PB's maze was much more utilized than normal, though I'm probably just unlucky.
• Omega Research SW is still doable, need a slightly modified DBJ though.
• Modified flamethrowers in Twin Fires like in the EU/JAP versions of the game.
• Can powerbomb the Power Wave Ice and Plasma troopers.
• Can still climb PPC and Ore Processing without spider, I thought this'd be fixed for sure.
• Omega Pirate scan bug still works!
• OP won't let me one round him anymore, the last shot of the round didn't register.
• The phazon jump in MQB, while still eloquent (CALFolio can relax ;D ) does not work in MQB, I found a new method to skip Grapple and spider.
• FGB can still be ghettoed to skip grapple, FGA was not so lucky.
• Ghetto jumps are completely unmolested.
• Research Access has the "UBAR DEATH BARRIER" in the middle of the room which prevents a 22% run from easily being done. Also, the graphics for the electricty by the ends of the rotating... things display incorrectly.
• Phazon Elite WTR glitch and game breaker glitch still work, twice thrice confirming this is a heavily modified NTSC 0-00 version.
• Ridley fight is amazingly different.
• Bloom lighting isn't that noticeable, thank god. I would have stabbed a baby but I've run out.
• Ghost artifact lores still exist after defeating ridley.
• Metroid Prime first form is ridiculously easy.
• Credits modified. Obviously.
• PAL ending scene.
• Hard difficulty is called "Hypermode" even though it's MP1.
• Your save gets overwritten with a horrifying loud beep, making it seem like your Wii has just imploded.
• Scans that you've already scanned stay scanned even when you start a new game.
• VMR (Rename to VMW is in order) can still be done very easily.
• Early Newborn has been nixed.

Will post more when I come across it, notice it.

A weird thing I noticed about Fungal Hall A, it was always meant to have an open roof.

Rooms that still cannot be completed

Boost Ball:

• Geothermal Core - Morph Ball Slot. Magmoor Workstation SW might be doable which might let us skip this.
• Vent Shaft - Omega Research's SW > Vent Shaft, warp into Elite Control.

Without the spring jump?

So you're saying that the scan dash still works in a way?

hm given those new roadblocks that they put in, i guess the jp version has a big advantage over the trilogy version for speed runs.

also, it's nice that we got the JP/EU changes in the US version. i liked most of them over the US variants.

cutscenes couldn't be skipped the first time so they might still be skippable when you replay the game..

Ah, thanks for pointing that our Sasuke. I forgot.

Also, alright this is something pretty cool, IBBF is completely possible in the Metroid Prime trilogy version of the game. I've just completed it and I will upload a video shortly (38 fucking minutes) and I hope until then you guys can take my word.

You made it from the back of the ship!? Wow, I really didn't think it was possible.

Yes, it was actually a hell of a lot easier than I thought it would be (I always had so much trouble with it on GC)

Sorry for the double post, Here's the video of the IBBF:

Damn that sucks. Can't believe I forgot to test that out when I got the game.

Just thought I'd drop in and say:

Artifact of Elder pre-Plasma Beam is still possible. You'd think they would have fixed that, especially since it was that straightforward.

Yep, I already noted that and the Pirate fight skip still works.

Got Plasma beam without spider and recorded it, going on youtube shortly. They completely blocked off the metal ring near the spider blocks, the only way near them is with an embarrassing seamwalk.

StefanvanDijke already has a video of plasma without spider on youtube. That was the Japanese version and it might be different in the North American version though.

Oh and btw, I just completed my first metroid prime wii ibbf.

It certainly is different. There's invisible clipping covering the entire metal ring near the spider blocks.

Actually now that I think about it, when I did the room without spider, I was able to move around the metal ring until a certain point and then I had to jump from there to the ledge underneath the spider block. What you did is definately easier though.

Wow, that's much easier and faster than how I did it. It is way to unreliable to use space pirates as dash points. Good job.

Also IS does work. I tested it out after wave beam and it worked without any problems.

T3: Some spots are probably more reliable than others. You used the crates, correct? Doorway IS's no longer let you spin freely, they "mp3" you and lock you in place.

Oh right, the Ghetto Jump to skip grapple in Fungal Hall B still works easily, I got it twice without a problem.

Been noted, the ghettos in this game if anything are completely unmolested.

Just confirmed Artifact of Wild and some other room I can't remember ATM without spider; MQA is now the only room that needs spider.

EDIT: MQA is confirmed, Metroid Hop still works :D

Spider ball has been skippable for a while now but there's no video proof so go for it.

Grapple is skippable, I solved all the rooms couple weeks ago. Fungall Hall A, ghetto from the highest mushroom onto glider then jump to the door.

Research access can be bypassed by getting really lucky and not dying.

Yeah, gravity suit is skippable. There was the frigate to solve and artifact of lifegiver. Lifegiver isn't hard but one room in the frigate is tricky cause the one bomb in midair rule.

I did a 26% game when the game came out skipping, thermal visor, gravity suit and grapple beam. All can be skipped without secret worlds.
