T3: I was lucky enough to have my own (old, but still...) computer in my room w/ internet, and a google search for "metroid prime" luckily revealed SCU to me, which had videos and descriptions which were more than enough to get me going :)
I wish I'd kept/could find some ANCIENT videos I made, I remember me making a video for Life Grove 21% when I was like 8 and when I finally got it I remember going in front of the camera and saying "And THAT'S how you do Life Grove 21%!". God I wish I could find that video, I actually looked like a little kid.

That's amazing, an 8 year old solving rooms for 21%. So you're saying you knew how to hbj/ubj and dash at the age of seven? Shocked

HBJ/UBJ's came a bit later (9/10 years) but I was still doing them much earlier than anyone else :P

Dash jumping was always very easy for me, which is funny because people 18+ couldn't get it and someone who was less than half their age could :P
SJF was always very easy for me, infact I even did the beetle dash method well before it was put on the main site/posted on the forums ('04) which is funny because I haven't been able to do it since :P
Also, the way I found Frost Cave out was just by testing for FHA/Phendrana's Edge, I happened to be on the very right tip of his wing and he pushed me through the wall when I wasn't even paying attention, my dad pointed out the fact I was outside of the level. Much OMG YAY I FOUND A SW happened, especially considering the fact I was absolutely infatuated with SW's at the time. That's another reason why I'm so fast at IBBF, if you'd practised something for 4 years you'd be pretty fucking good at it too :)

And BTW: I was dash jumping at the age of 6 ;)

Hey Baby, happy Birthday! Dash-Jumpng with 6 is so freaking cool, man! Never would've thought you're that young. :)
I hexed C64-Games and modded handhelds like the Classic Game Boy, when I was your age (I just turned 28 about 2 weeks ago).

Even more Offtopic

Btw.: 2 months before my birthday, I invented a new way of backlighting the Game Boy Classic. I always dreamed of playing "Super Mario Land", "Zelda - Link's Awakening" and stuff like that in the dark! Now I finally got it.  grin new

(see youtube description for more infromations)

Now back to topic: SJE is so close - tomorrow we will see!

Wow, that's really cool man! Sweet to know the man who provided me with so much entertainment in my young years would share my birthday with me. Come to think of it I remember there being a huge party and I was like "woah, millzy's birthday is on mine?". Either way, cool and have an awesome birthday like I'm having! :D

EDIT: How is moony doing man? I haven't heard from her in FOREVER!

Hmm, I did a search, but I couldn't find anything of use, so... has anyone started comparing the PAL and NTSC Trilogy? If so, are there any differences so far?

There's probably absolutely no differences, they were released within 2 weeks of eachother.

But there are no hard facts as of now? I'm curious because I have a lot of trouble doing gettho jumps in the PAL Trilogy. More specifically the ones in Furnace and anything underwater. I just couldn't seem to reach the required heights. Might be because I'm completely out of practice, but trying more than half an hour in each spot, and still not quite making it seemed odd to me. Never had that much trouble on the GC.

Furnace = Dead. Invisible block before you nab spider.
Underwater = Lock onto something. Combat, scan, xray, thermal. Doesn't matter, lock on and you'll get the height.

The invisible block explains a lot :P
I guess I'll need to practice underwater jumps a little more, then. Thanks for the info.

wow...I just got pwned by Ridley on hyper mode.  I fought him for like 20 minutes, my hand is aching !!

It was really close though, one more super missile on his sweet spot would have done him in.  The fight is a lot different than my original version.  Aside from his new attacks, he seems to take alot less damage from my supers.  I tried hitting him with charged plasma but it was not advantageous since the damage was no greater than supers and it was much harder to land a shot without having homing capabilities.

I'm doing good until he gets on the ground.  In my old version, I used to hit him with a charged power beam when he opened his mouth and then follow up with a super when he shows his weak spot.  Now it seems that it takes about 5 hits just to get him into that pose, instead of the usual one hit.  His ground-slamming attacks add an opportunity to hit his open mouth right after he lands, but it still takes forever to stun him.

Has anyone played against Ridley on hyper mode yet and/or can give me some suggestions on how to stun him quicker?  I need to let my hand recover for now.

Also, plasma > supers. Plasma does MORE (wtf, I know) damage and isn't that much harder to aim.

Also, guaranteed crash: sunchamber > suntower. I have no idea why. Even if you dump sunchamber, make sure you're in the next room and try to load suntower the game always suicides. Completely resets the wii.
