I know SCU had it in the symphony of samus, but that's gone now...
I was wondering if anyone had it/had a link to it. I can imagine nate having one, definitely.
TEH EDIT: I've found some on valice.net

Yay! I knew you'd have it, Nate!
Saves me having to D/L them all seperately, too!
Does it have the 'unused' title theme, because that is one of the best (prime) metroid tracks I've heard.
IMO, the problem with BUYing the soundtrack, apart from the money thing, is I don't WANT fusion...
EDIT: D/Ling now. Big filesize, I am assuming they're very high quality, then?

other problem with buying is that it's missing like ten tracks and the fades are lame some of the time. wasn't really too impressed with their efforts when i bought it myself. however i can't really post it on tph because some of those iirc are from the official soundtrack - i don't think i ever recorded everything like i did with prime 3 - i just made sure there was nothing missing. this was over four years ago though so i may be totally wrong on that.

most of them seem to be 192 kbaud.

never saw any proof the unused title theme was actually from metroid prime and so i haven't dealt with it before.

Nice. I woudn't bother getting most game soundtracks, but metroid is... something else.
The unused soundtrack was presented as true, but I've seen no proof. I would assume it's just something on the disc, if it does exist.
It does bear striking resembalance to MP3s Title theme, though. I still prefer it over MP3s.
Anyway, thanks Nate!

Last one on the list.
If you don't have an account, use mine.
Password is ... I've edited it out, I don't feel right somehow. PM me if you need it.
Please delete that once you've used it, I'm sure Valice don't want people using it.
Anyway, there's no real proof, but it does say it comes from a hacking site, so that would be how they got it if it's real.
BTW, nice rips of the soundtrack!

Just to let you know, nate, in that .zip "Thardus" does not include a track number (it should be 29).

There is a rock theme, similar to the percent-time music, which is from the game's trailer (it was included in SoS).  Might perhaps this is the 'unused' title theme you are thinking of?
PrimeTrailer1.avi

There actually is an unused track in 00-0 Prime: narration for the intro.
pvm01_dsp.mp3

I don't know if it would be of interest, or even allowable, to list the actual track names found within the game and its sequal.  One interesting tidbit is that the "missing" Flaahgra music doesn't even exist in the original version, so it's not some programming glitch.

don't see how listing internal track names would be a problem.

Hmm, the ID3 tag for that track points to http://zhaymusic.com/  and if you mouse-over the "metroid prime demo" track you get this:
Quote:
I was in touch with Clark Wen (the audio director at Retro Studios) for a few weeks: they needed music for Metroid Prime. This is the demo song I produced for them. It became popular on various gaming sites around the internet at the time (most notably IGN). I obviously didn't get the assignment, but this tune was lots of fun to write, especially considering how much I love the music from the Metroid series of games.

Although Prime and Echoes has their music credited to Kenji Yamamoto, I've heard that there is an uncredited American who did many tracks for the first game.  Who was it?

In Prime, the stereo tracks are split left/right.  The RSF files occur outside of the main game - in the title screen and credits.
