haha, fork.

well, it's more fun for me to think about where metroid was 25 years ago than where it is now.

by the way, m2k2's eighth birthday was last tuesday, and i didn't make a thread about it, either. :)

It's more fun to think about where Metroid was one year ago than where it is now.  >_>

Never stressed
Think most of us already had Suspicions as to where Metroid was going to be around this time last year, though.

well, next year is one of the milestones that really matters for m2k2 and then the year after is m2k2's 10th anniversary (10th and 25th seem to be the most popular numbers for this kind of stuff)

I'm likin' some of the remixes in Harmony of a Hunter.  Had no idea folks from OCRemix were involved.

Why haven't they remade Super without the run button, stupid weapon changing and awkward jump physics yet? This would have been the perfect time.

but one of the best parts of SM are the freaky jump physics...

The jump physics aren't really changed at all in Control Freak.

Also, the graphics are fine.  The only thing I'd really change is the Gravity Suit to its more modern darker shade of purple.

Actually, I like SM's graphics.

The jump physics and graphics could use a bit of tweaking, but they're mostly solid. It's really just the controls that need work, and while it's good that there are hacks with them fixed, it would be better to have an official game like that.

Would help if it would start actually being awesome without the need for control hacks.

Not that it isn't awesome.  It just has controls that severely damage the experience.

The only thing I don't like about the controls is constantly having to hold down run. Other than that, they're fine in my book. And I don't care about the weapon switching. Complaining about that is like complaining about Prime using one analog stick for both movement and looking around.

Having to hold down a run button is kind of really annoying.  As is weapon switching, in my opinion.

As far as Prime goes, the original's controls are less than optimal, too.  Unless you're speed running (and yeah, I know that's a big "unless" on this site, but still), the Trilogy version is a lot more fun.

All first person games should be like this. It is the n64 way. It is the true way.
