With the x-ray climb it's 98% and legally it's 73%
Where are you getting 98% from? Or did you find a way to make the game think Phantoon is dead? Because otherwise the following items are ungrabbable due to room states:
gravity WS rtank missiles in same room WS etank right WS supers (not completely sure about this one, but safe to assume) WS top missiles (same as above) WS left supers
That makes 94%
Additionally, last I heard, there was no way to grab Varia and get out, so unless that's been solved, xray glitch NBMB will have to end at Varia.
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
None of the items in the WS even *exist* until Phantoon is dead, except for the reserve tank (or was it an energy tank?). So none of those can be collected, even though you can still get to half of them. Last I heard, it was impossible to even GET to the Varia Suit, thanks to Kraid's omnipresent hitbox. If you could get to it though... hm. I think Kraid's omnipresent hitbox would make getting out with it equally impossible, unless there happened to be a convenient door block in the BTS data. Which I doubt there is. AFAIK, Ridley's e-tank and the Space Jump have also not been acquired. For that matter, has anyone even passed Botwoon yet?

Kraid's room is too small to make use of those door blocks. All you get is BTS and background data, which will be the same every time you enter the room. I had an idea for skipping Botwoon yesterday, but after I thought about it I realized it wouldn't work the way I was thinking. He's the most likely obstacle to be skipped next though.
X-Ray climb uses the X-Ray to escape room bounders. You get stuck, and use the X-Ray to force stand, crouch, force stand, crouch, etc. It is what makes a NBMB beatable (both with enableing access to Tourian and skipping MB, the other is space time beam). It's really confusing, and hard to do. And don't feel bad, we all needed infomation at one point.
Edit: The moment of truth. Do I enter Kraid to get the missile now, or after speed booster? I'm going with after speedbooster. I will not be releaseing WIP's, but you can PM me if you want to see the run at a given point.

Would the idea you posted forever ago to use the murder beam to skip Botwoon by clipping through the metal door leading to the purple cactus rooms work (if you don't remember what I'm talking about, I could go search for your post)?

Now that you mention it, I *have* done that before. Gravity suit shouldn't make a difference, it just might take 10x longer to actually do (don't remember if the door is under water or not, or if it would even matter). There's a few paths to the Plasma Beam that should work now too, and one of them should even be out of water. So yeah. I guess we have skipped Botwoon. Just not in sequence.
Okay, so a theoretical NBMB is now all items except for the WS stuff and Spring Ball, am I right (the etank after Ridley is probably obtainable with OOR travel, and seeing as running out of health doesn't pose a problem due to the pause screen glitch, it doesn't matter if it takes a really long time)?

The problem with the springball is that you need the springball to get it without gravity suit. Though getting out would be a challenge too.
There's still no theoretical way of getting the stuff behind Ridley and Draygon though. Their rooms are too small to manipulate any useful door transitions, and so you'd have to rely on the BTS data to give you a room transition you need. Which is unlikely to happen, though it should be checked regardless. Actually, on second thought, I can think of a way you'd PROBABLY be able to sneak past Ridley. Enter the room via a manipulated door block from the previous room so that Samus ends up exactly 1 block right outside of the room, and then x-ray up until you hit the door transition. You'd be able to get the energy tank that way, but getting back out without killing Ridley looks like it'd be impossible.
