Ok I've beat this game two times and the map of Super Metroid is basically burned into my Retina (ouch). I was kinda bored and I was going to fight when I got a stupid idea. At the place where you drop out of Maridia (the one closest to the tube) if you Infinite Bomb Jump up that small hole you can get slightly farther into Maridia. I suck at glitches except Time Reset so I can't do anything up there.

Maybe somebody can find a use for this and sorry if this was already found.

Are you talking about landing out by the tube close to the Norfair elevator and Kraid's part of Brinstar?  If so, then there's a green gate that is facing the wrong way, iirc.

You can also wall jump up that hidden shaft...but it doesn't matter.  Scarlet's right, there's a super missile gate, and I don't think there's enough room to do the green gate glitch.

Besides that, it seems like it'd be rather annoying to get into the room with the pre-broken tube, since you'd have to go up a full screen in height and then squeeze through a one-block horizontal gap without being able to see where you are.  I suppose it logically it might be no worse than leaving the bomb torizo area via walljumping and morphing, but I dunno.

Room wouldn't matter..I'm pretty sure that gate is facing the wrong way to even do the green gate glitch anyway.

You *can* get to Maridia from the Wrecked Ship, then do the green gate glitch in the room to the right of the room above the tube, though.

Ok thanks. I guess I'll start looking at other areas.

dont you need to power bomb the door to get to the elevator though?

Hell if I remember.

If so, then to get very far in Maridia you'd need PB's.

Well, one would need Power Bombs to access Wrecked Ship, so…

EDIT:  Handy dandy map.  There are four paths to Maridia.  Two of them have Green gates, both of which face the wrong way to glitch them.  The other two are the Maridia tube (requires Power Bombs) and an elevator from Wrecked Ship (two Power Bomb doors you would have to pass through to access it).

Yeah, so both ways it looks like you'd need pb's to reach Maridia.

If a green gate glitch method for the type of gate in em's original post was found, then there wouldn't be.

You can't direct link to a faq, it just gives a referral error.

The amount of running room doesn't matter when the green thing is on the wrong side.  :o

You can only glitch the gate when travelling to the left?  I need to pay more attention.  Good thing I haven't been attempting it.  :)

Unless a way was found, correct.  Only when the green thing is to the left of the gate is where you can do the green gate glitch.

Yeah that was the room. Well at least I tried.
