I experienced this major bug today while playing through SkyTown. I had just got the Plasma Beam and welded the panels under the Aurora Unit. I then went back to speak to it and it gave me the map of the area, and told me to go to the Federation landing site. I then spoke to it again, and it again told me to go to the Federation landing site (although the message was much shorter).
I then headed towards the Main Docking Bay, but forgot my ship was still damaged. Not wanting to walk all the way back to the Spire Dock for it to be repaired, I killed myself using Hypermode.
Upon choosing to restart, I was put in front of the Aurora Unit, and it repeated its last message (the short one), but I did not have the full map of the area. The panels under the AU were welded, but speaking to the AU again simply repeated the same message, and I could not get the full map. I then headed to Spire Dock, but my ship did NOT tell me it was repaired. So I carried on as normal, and called my ship at Docking Bay A or whatever it's called, and continued as normal.
Later on in the game, I discovered another thing had gone wrong! After destroying the Elysia Seed and going to the Pirate Homeworld, I went back to SkyTown. As soon as I landed at the Main Docking Bay, my ship decided it was damaged and started to smoke! I could not take off again. I could, however, call it to another landing site and take off from there. Also, if I called it to land at Main Docking Bay, it would start smoking again and be unusable. So, for the rest of this game, I am unable to use the Main Docking Bay on SkyTown as a landing site!
It seems that when I restarted after dying, the game did not properly load the previous position - even though I had talked to the AU after welding the panels, for some reason the game thinks I didn't, and so I don't have the full area map and my ship doesn't auto-repair. I think it could be because I spoke to the AU twice, so when it restarted it did the effect of the second message (nothing really, just unlocking the doors probably) but not the first (which is to give the full map and allow the ship to be repaired, as well as unlocking the doors). Has anyone else had this happen?
