What other games would be fun to do a "15% Zero Mission" kind of run in? The first thing that came to mind is Legend of Zelda (how much stuff can you skip in that game? It doesn't seem like you need the 2nd boomerang) and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, where I figure you only need to get like half a dozen souls to complete the game.

Why am I so amazing?
You can skip all health upgrades and sand clouds in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. In every Zelda game you can skip all the heart containers, and there's a few unnecesary items in each. You can beat Super Mario 64 without hitting any hat switches. All the Metroid games have low % stuff, of course. You could beat Viewtiful Joe without buying any upgrades.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head right now.

How about Gradius 3 for the SNES? Don't upgrade your ship at all.  Shocked

You can beat Pokemon with only your starter. And there are many skippable battles. Which brings me to another point...Pokemon speed runs, soon to be posted on The Boardwalk cause more people go there than Handheld Gaming. And it's not off-topic in The Boardwalk so...yeah, posting soon.

Can you skip the hearts in LttP? I haven't played in awhile but for some reason, I thought the door to the end was locked until you grabbed it.

I'm fairly sure you can. Fairly.

Actually, I think you have to get the heart...that or the door you came through opened up so you can leave, come back, and maybe the heart will be gone. I dunno, after you warped out in OoT the heart disappeared so possibly it's kinda the same in LttP.

In LttP you have to get the hearts the bosses leave or you the dooor won't open, so the minimum hearts to beat the game is 13.  In OoT, MM and WW the hearts aren't required, and they'll still be there if you come back later, so the min in those is 3.

Impossible. There are parts of the game where you NEED speed upgrades, like the super-fast level or the plant boss.
Beating it without options/shields, on the other hand...  8)

TECHNICALLY, you can actually bug your way into the endgame from the Hyrule Castle (in the room with the pits, and the guards that you knock off the cliff), making the TECHNICAL minimum 3. However, this requires taking a screwdriver to your controller, and is too abusive to be allowed anyway.

Oh yes, I remember reading a guide on GameFAQs about that. It had a glitchy way to beat the game with only the sword, shield, uh...I think you needed the first boomerang, the arrows, moon pearl...and something else. Actually you could skip the moon pearl and be a bunny the whole time with some other glitch...but I dunno, go to GameFAQs and check it out.

Yeah, that's where I got it from. Actually, this is a diffferent glitch; as I mentioned, it's in Hyrule Castle, so you only need the sword and shield.

BTW, do you EVER need the boomerang to beat the game without huge map glitches?
