Is there a way to not lose all my missiles after I use the Space/Time Beam? I like them very much and don't want them to be "thrown away" after I get them.

I'm trying to mess around and get 255 of everything as I assume that that is the maximum number of Missiles, Super Missiles, Power Bombs, Energy Tanks, and Reserve Tanks. I think it'd be fun to be a power house.

If there is a way, please tell me.

P.S. I play the console version.

255 is not max, and you wont lose your items when you use the space/time beam, at least I didn't when I tried it. (Console)

I perform the glitch in the old escape shaft.

I equip Plazma and Spazer and unequip wave, Shoot the door at the bottom point blank, turn left, fire, and jump to the right (in slow motion) through the door. Then I turn around and head back up the shaft to the save point.

I save there, reset the game, load it up, and I have all my items excluding the missiles. The picture representing missiles is not even there. I then have to collect a bunch of missiles again, it's a pain. Am I doing something wrong?

If you save your game, you should end up watching the whole intro to the game again (which gets a bit screwed up if you have screw attack [equipped I guess]), and going though the Ceres Colony. You aren't supposed to lose the missiles; try pressing select. I think the icon disappears until you do that.

You do lose your missiles.
As Jack mentioned, the intro is a bit messed up if you have the screw attack; the intro uses Samus's actual equipment and physics, and her missiles. But of course, Samus has missiles for the intro even if you don't use the reset glitch.

The game gives Samus a few missiles for the intro, then deletes them at the end of the intro, specifically for that purpose. There's no real way to get around it when you save and reload the game.

That makes sense... But why are people talking about not losing their missiles? Strange.

In fact, the normally black-and-white cutscene Samus goes into the color of the suit you have :D (Gravity, because you couldn't get Plasma without it, right?)

You could, but it'd be lots of work.  You'd have to go through all of maridia without the grav...

... or you can just de-equip it before you save.

Time bomb set get out fast!
Ah, ability to disable powerups... how I pine for thee.  Would it have been so hard to include that in Fusion and ZM?  The GBA's processor is nearly as powerful as the PS1's, no?

They could have easily done it.  I don't think it has anything to do with the processing power of the system.  They probably just didn't really see it as all that necessary.

Or, more likely, they do not want anything like the gravity jump and murder beam to exist.

The games actually keep track of whether or not an item is equipped or not, regardless of you actually having the item. Zero Mission uses this for the unknowns, but Fusion doesn't have an excuse. =P
