What do you think? Is Phazon gone forever, or do you think it is still around.
I believe it is still around. Phazon is not like a hive mind. In a hive, only the queen (in this case, Phaaze) can reproduce, while the workers (Phazon) cannot. But Phazon is capable of reproducing itself. My theory is that Phaaze was the only planet that could send out Leviathans to corrupt other planets with phazon, turning them into planets that support a phazon based environment, like Phaaze. These "Phaaze clones", however, cannot produce leviathans. Therefore when Phaaze was destroyed, phazon wasn't destroyed, but it became less of a threat because now there was no planet that could send out Leviathans to corrupt other planets. Simply put, Phaaze is gone, but phazon and the planets fully corrupted by Phaaze which support phazon based environments are still around. It is kind of simple if you think about it.
