Does it work in all versions? I do exactly what is said in the glitch faq at Gamefaqs but it never works. My Snes is busted so I use an emulator and I downloaded the European version rom.

Also, what happens if you do the reset glitch and collect an item like the space jump?

If these questions have already been answered just tell me where I can find the answer and delete/lock this topic.

Well, you says that you can't activate space/time beam. The timing must be perfect. A little bit early, and you'll deactivate space junp (i think, it might be something else), a bit too late, and you'll deactivate plasma.

I'm guessing that the buttons must be pressed at the exact same time down to the millisecond because I press both buttons with one hand to try to improve the accuracy of my timing but I still can't do it.

Time bomb set get out fast!
The space-time beam can be done in an emulator, but not always in the same places as on the console.  Here are some instructions specifically for ZSNES.  If it doesn't work at the door they mention, try other doors until you find one where it does.  The glitch's behaviour in emulators is different, less predictable.  For example, I once managed to reset the game in such a way that the doors of boss rooms didn't seal properly -- instead of going metal, they'd be flashing as if the boss were already dead.  I could fight Phantoon for a while and then just leave.  Don't be surprised if you get weird results like that.

Nothing special.  You still hear the jingle, and the item doesn't work any differently, nor does it appear twice on the menu screen.  You can't go over 14 Energy Tanks, either.  But you can go past your usual Missile, Super Missile, and Power Bomb capacities, and the end-of-game collection rate can go over 100%.  (Also, there's one minor side effect of already having the powerups -- the first Torizo won't wait for you to take his Bomb upgrade before attacking, because he thinks you already have.  If you want, you can just leave the item floating there.)

If you're using an emulator, when you're gonna activate the Beam, map all required buttons to the same key, and just press that single key. It isn't too hard to figure out. ;)

But I HATE Zsnes so those instructions are no use.

I have Snes9XW_SE2_PPRO.

Edit: damn slow internet; there was another post while my post was being uploaded. Evil or Very Mad

My emulator doesn't allow mapping two functions to one button, I tried that already.

Your loss. ;) I've been able to do stuff with ZSNES that I have found no way of doing with other emulators. :P

Well I'll try Zsnes then.

Could someone post a link to it?

Edit: never mind, I found it.

Edit2: Yay, I did it! Within ten seconds of arming the time/soace beam I had already crashed the game. :P
