Finally managed to read all that, jesus christ. The multiple personality part was indeed bizarre as fuck, especially since I don't think a medical condition like that really exists. Doesn't schizophrenia pretty much cause halluzinations, mood swings and only makes it appear like a person would have multiple personalities?

Also, what? I had actually posted in one of those "congratz radix" threads, having stating I had no idea what was going on. But all the time reading through the "history of m2k2" it never occured to me I had also been here during these times.

yeah I was considering that to be the cause (schizophrenia just being something entirely different), makes me wonder why schizophrenia is known to cause multiple personalities over here. Guess that's just the typical misinformation that comes with growing up in a working class family

I guess the fact that some syptoms overlap doesn't help. I've met a few people who also confused schizophrenia with bipolar, and yet these are even more distinct that with schizophrenia and MPD/DID.

from what i recall, most of these disorders are pretty specific and it's not uncommon for people to be diagnosed with several -- the dsm-iv is fucking huge. i think that adds to the confusion.
