The only thing I see as a possible retcon is the aurora units. Why not just use an Aurora Unit to control the creatures?

Notice how most of these retcon stuff in MP3, but barely touch MP 1 or 2.

WAIT A MINUTE. You start out Metroid Prime with the grapple beam, even though you never have the grapple beam in Metroid/Zero Mission.

Metroid Prime is an impossibility.
EDIT: OK, I'm exagerrating a little. She could have gotten it between ZM and Prime. But we will never see it.

here's a concept i dont think anybody thought of... (btw i didnt read all posts so i may stand corrected) perhaps the prime trilogy did not in fact happen directly after the first game. isnt the whole argument behind the placing of the prime trilogy based on....

the metroids exist so it could not be after 2 or super. well clearly we now know that metroids have been cloned and may very well still exist outside the bottleship even after other m. plus in fusion samus says metroid dna still resides in her. could it possibly be extracted and used to clone them YET AGAIN. this time would also explain her surprise

Zebes still exists in the Prime series, so the only possible place the subseries can be is after Zero Mission but before Metroid II.

And yeah, Nintendo has said that that is when the Prime games take place.

further more...

when it comes to ridley's existence. someboyd mentioned that in prime it says that ridley is destroyed in the first game. this does not rule anything out as we now know he can be cloned. it can and most likely does mean that metaridley could have been a cloned and enhanced ridley at ANY point the timeline.

also who is to say the prime series does not weave in and out of the 2d games. just because

dark samus isnt defeated until prime 3

doesnt mean that she didnt have any missions in between the prime games. corruption could have happened after other m and would thus samus's statement of

this was the first mission with the galactic federation since i became a bounty hunter

could still very much be true.
