In their defense, Prime 3!Federation did quite a bit of fighting.  It's just that most of it was off screen.

I suppose Metroid Prime Galactic Federation acts more like the GF should, but some of the bioweapons the GF makes are pretty cool. I mean, just look at Nightmare.

Edit: Although, the Demolition Troopers were  pretty cool, even if they couldn't fight to save their lives.

He just sent Samus to do all the badass infiltration and exploration stuff while he commanded an entire fleet. He conducted an invasion of the pirate homeworld and fought their whole fleet at Phaaze. Just because he wasn't on screen that much doesn't mean he didn't do anything. Was Captain Picard being lazy when he stayed on the ship and sent Riker on away missions?

infiltration? things randomly blow up near samus, and i am sure that you activate at least one alarm on pirate base planet on prime 3.

Such is the problem with having Space Pirates be a race of creatures rather than an actual group of pirates.  With the latter, you don't have to worry about innocent women and children.

that's something that should be cleared up. are the space pirates a race or a group? sometimes they're referred as a race (like when samus learns about their revival in the game) and sometimes as a group (Ridley and Kraid are space pirates because they're their commanders but no way they're the same race as them. also, the various kinds of pirates across the series)

I would guess a group since the Primes have different looking Space Pirates in every game.
