just mere hype. it was like zelda TP's hype where the story was supposed to be the bridge to tie in all games together going by PR speak but in the end it ended fucking up even more what was already fucked up.

i believe the feds reverse-engineered samus' suit and weapons by the time Fusion came so they were able to send her upgrades and stuff.

the AUs were probably based on Mother Brain and they made them differently and less capable to avoid another MB-like incident. after all, Mother Brain had all the knowledge inside her and the AUs just know about the areas they're in and have a network to communicate among themselves because none have access to all information freely.
