I got bored, so I decided to fiddle around with SMILE and see what I could come up with.
The result is attached.
It might be better if you save it to your system, then open it in your favourite art package, and zoom out (if it doesn't resize it for you).
Definately a really cool screenshot!! Worthy of being an avatar.... Depending upon a little competition I have with someone (you genius of the bionicles, you) I might or might not keep it as an avatar. Epic....
I decide I should attach the edited pic just in case someone else might decide to use it as an avatar also. Perhaps it can be Quietus's avatar?? After all, he's the creator of the unedited pic....
the first thing I noticed is that you're using the wrong tiles on the ground and walls. those are for the layer1 cave tiles, and look bad without them being used. your palette looks nice, but the sky in the BG REALLY doesn't fit. (you'll need to turn off "stay gray" in the FX1 to change the palette if you didn't already know)
Looks kind of "disasterous", not in a bad way, but (well, exactly like Dependence). You've got lots of platforms and bits of land all over the place. And you definitely need to fix some slopes.
Also you can just attach a picture to your post so we don't need to go through a link to see it. Just click the attachment option and select the pic from your computer.
Hmmm... whatever happened to Black Tolomeres? He/she was the one who inspired me to make a hack.

That's simply awesome, squishy. I loved when the bang shot the beams at Samus. Did it possess a space pirate?
Also, how in the heck you made the bang have correct graphics? Whenever i use it, the core is glitched. I know this isn't SMILE help thread! Nevermind that
I tried to do the same thing as you did squishy, simply i tried to make bang possess a space pirate, so it would shoot space pirates beam. I succeeded... sort of...
Funny, huh?
(should i change the palette?)
Edit: I finally got the SP to disappear, so now it looks like the Bang shoots the beams. Now, how i can make the blue bubble? I never get it to work. Another group of Bangs maybe?

HOLY CRAP! You need to tell me how you did set up this!
I guess that's what squishy did, but with invisible enemies.
Edit: nevermind, I tried it myself and I don't know how to do it. Possess an enemy and make it still look like a normal bang, that is. But I guess this isn't the right place for an explanation...

To save space, it's in spoiler.
1. Remove all enemies in room, then add 1. (Backup, backup) 2. Change it to bang, and set it's values to these: orientation: 0001 speed: BB66 Speed2: 0005 (You can change this to your liking) 3. Add another enemy, and change it to whatever you want. Place it anywhere in the room 4. Add a third enemy. Make it bang with same values as the first bang, but the speed BB4A. Place it top of the first bang 5. Done
And i know this still isn't SMILE help thread, so from this i will either PM answers or more simply post them on the SMILE ht...
Since 'New Hack Idea' topics aren't allowed I thought I'd throw this one on here.
What about a 'Super Metroid *Backwards' hack?
It would be the same Super Metroid only... For example; the Wrecked Ship and Maridia would be on the left part of the map, Brinstar and Tourian would be on the right... So on and so forth. Everything would essentially be mirrored.
Instead of "backwards" -Mirrored would work too. Since 'backwards' could imply a sort of Reverse Boss Order.
Edit: I doubt this post breaks any rules, but if it does then deleting it would be fine w/ me.
Edit2: Thinking more about it - I guess it wouldn't work if the bosses couldn't be made to face the other way. The whole thing would be for the novelty of it.
There was a video posted a short while ago that looked like that, but I believe it was just a mirrored video of a TAS.
I think it could work as a hack, and it'd be interesting to see how people's completion times altered. I agree that the bosses would be an issue, though.
Maybe if you modified the code that actually writes to the screen you could do it all at once? As a "bonus" it would end up making Samus move left when you hold right and vice versa.
A slight update. If anyone remembers the green bubbly room I had shown earlier, it has now turned into something much more appealing I think. No pallete work or custom tiles in this tileset yet, so the picture isn't final in that sense, but not much will change with the layout I believe.
Oh wow! Nice work MM I love the second pic! My fire area doesn't have those bright red blocks, but that's because I'm using tileset 25. I do have a nice cavey background and bright red haze though.
You may need to watch out with using SMILE 2 though. There's still a few bugs. You should keep a buckup with the last time you used 1.32.
Pics from Incintyra and Solaria (night). Believe it or not, that dragon comes out of the right hole and goes back down the left one . Pretty sweet
