Secret World 47: Frost Cave Access

Totally useless because of Frost Cave's much easier and far less random but this is noteworthy anyways. I morphed during a no SJ game on my way to Phendrana's Edge and boosted about halfway into the tunnel. I got stuck and for some reason instead of trying to dislodge myself, I started boosting like crazy. I got probably 20-25 boosts in and the game clipping released me. I saw the end of the tunnel, a wall, then nothing. I unmorphed and was outside the level. This could likely be applied many other places in the game.
I just now saw this, and now I know I'm not crazy.  I first encountered the same thing playing with Infinite Boost, trying to make the FCS entrance work.  Instead, I unmorphed (it wouldn't let me go, so I decided to change position) and ended up phasing through the left-hand wall (left from the door's perspective), and then the next wall, back inside the room, where I lost too much speed to exit again.

So yeah, anywhere Infinite Boost can be made to work might just have a SW entrance associated with it as well.  I couldn't make it work when I tried the elevator rooms in the Phazon Mines, but there are plenty of Flickerball, and therefore potential IB, points to try out. :\

Anywhere Infinite Speed (and therefore infinite boost) can be applied is a SW, I'm pretty sure that's old news, however.

I... don't think it is.  I sure as hell didn't say anything like that 'cause I thought I made a mistake with judging my phase instance; until SW"47" (pretty sure the list goes beyond 50... in fact, I think Burning Trail is the real 47), I'd not heard anyone else speak of the phasing ability.

If this was spoken of elsewhere, I'd like to see it.

Jesus well I've done a SW in almost every room where you can IS. Except for PPC, because for some godforsaken reason the walls in that room aren't stick when secretised.
And Burning Trail is 41 actually, this would be SW47 if labeled correctly.

“Well done is better than well said”
I'm not sure where to post this question but: Can anybody post a link or video on how to get the two extra energy tanks for a Varialess Magmoor Run. I looked on UTube and saw the one that uses the SW entry in Main Plaza but I think it got taken down. For NTSC version. Thanks.

Training Chamber:
The longer route can be seen here.  Note that he stops before doing a ceiling warp and getting the tank, and then attempts the Training Chamber SW once.

The quickest route is to use the Main Plaza SW and head through Piston Tunnel.  iirc, floaty jump is not required, but it makes this route magnitudes easier.  In terms of difficulty, it goes: this with floaty jump, the above route, this without floaty jump.  Piston Tunnel can be loaded by touching the platform where Piston Tunnel exits into Main Plaza.  Walk along the morph ball pipe, and switch the map to Piston Tunnel.  If you have floaty jump, you can safely jump out towards Piston Tunnel.  While there are some deep pits between the pistons, IBJ means you will not get stuck.  Training Chamber can be loaded by touching the room about 2/3 of the way in.  I forget the exact position.  Since this is an inbound loading trigger instead of a door warp, this will take care of unloading Main Plaza for you.  If you have floaty jump, you can simply drop in on the wave door side and use IBJ to open the morph ball tunnel for an easy exit and get the tank.  Without IBJ, you need to ceiling warp above the tank and then get back out using a SW.  An annoying SW.

SW 11 Training Chamber:
When you enter through the wave door, look up and across.  There are two small ledges that sticks out from the metal wall decorations, one on each side.  Next to the door is a container and above the door is a standable bar.  Get on either of these.  From here, you can get to the previously mentioned ledges.  Above each ledge there is a part of the roof that is lower.  The one to the left (when facing away from the wave door) has an invisible barrier over part of it.  Either should be doable, but there is little room for error.

Hall of Elders:
easiest way is to do ibbf and just get it inbounds.  You could do it with SWs, but at that point you've already done 90% of ibbf anyway.

I got the blackout bug, as documented on the main site under Other; blackout bug. It happened in a different room though, right before Metroid Prime's second form. Had to redo the whole segment of course.

I found these two in the trilogy version and decided they were good enough to post:

1. I just found this one after getting early power bombs: if you didn't backtrack through the part of the phazon mines where the map room is blocked by bendezium, then you won't trigger the elite pirate battle there. BUT if you then return to the room from the same entrance as the first time, the force field will be up and the elite's artillery gun will be lying behind it. If you destroy the gun, climb upstairs, and drop down to the lower door, the cutscene where the elite appears will play, but he will stagger backwards as if the gun had been on it's back. Who knew elites were such spazzes?

2. Someone else has probably already posted this one, but it's still interesting: in my impatience, I was mashing the A button rapidly after skipping the map download cutscene, and when I exited from the newly earned map, the input port on the station swung down with me not plugged into it. Guess I made the game move too fast to catch up with the cutscene.

It does that with missile refill stations, too.

I just found another glitch regarding enemies. You know the pirate that falls into the water in cargo lift to deck gamma? Apparently, although it already drowned, I noticed that the area where it was standing still made the crosshair turn red. When I looked directly at it, the pirate begins to have a seizure in the water. I shot the area with plasma beam, and a small fraction of its toe disentegrates before it resumes its thrasing and rolling. Weird.

not sure if this is new or not but sometimes when i'm coming back from getting wave the door leading to the room with the artifact is already shot and opens when i roll towards it. how does that work? shouldn't the door have reset itself when i got wave if not before?

nah. that room isn't unloaded since another room doesn't load while you're in the wave room. radix and i saw this while working on our 100% runs in late summer 2003. iirc it happens because you lay a bomb that goes off after the door closes as you head into the tunnel room. of course it would be good to do that every time in runs but it was found to be too hard to pull off consistently.

ah. that would be the "wasted" bomb used to time the other bombs right. i didn't think it was close enough to open it but now that i know it is i'll definitely see about using that in an actual run, seeing as i lay the bomb there anyway
