I guess it just depends on the particular relationship you have with the person. When it comes to getting a video game for your birthday, I think of a parent being the gift-giver. My mom would ask me what I wanted for my bday, and it would have been just fine if I told her that I wanted X game, but it isn't in the store until X days later.
my mom would definitely be fine with that too but i still don't think it's my place to request something like that. especially because i know my mom likes to do gift shopping early so it would just inconvenience her.
Really? My mom is pretty concerned that I get the gift that I want the most so she would be quite glad that I told her. If simply going to the store on a different day inconvenienced her too much then she would just give me the $$ to go get it myself on the release day. The most important thing to her was that I got the thing that I wanted.
I like the way that he uses 'shrinkwrapped' in the same score as 'sealed'. They're completely different things, and you could buy a game, play it to death (as long as you didn't mark it), shrinkwrap it, and say it's 'sealed'.
Can't say I'll be keen if they incorporate the n00bometer, or regenerating health, or whatever. Finding secret areas containing Atomic Health was part of the games appeal. That, or drinking out of destroyed urinals for a slow refill.
The fighting looks fairly standard, and the motorbikes are as expected. The platforming looks like a direct rip of Mirror's Edge, which is no bad thing.
rip of mirror's edge? the entire point of mirror's edge is its first-person view; this looks totally different. more like a faster prince of persia or something.
