I couldn't help but laugh at this part about Stadium Events:
"When his eBay auction ended on February 26, 2010, the game sold for an amazing $41,300.
The same game repackaged by Nintendo, World Class Track Meet, generally sells for less than $3 on eBay."
Edit: And not surprisingly, I've never even heard of any of these eight games they're showing. Obviously don't own any of them, or else they would probably become the first games that I'd ever sell from my collection.
I am hoping to buy a Wii sometime in April, and put up a quick list of all the games that I'm interested in that's on the Wii. If I'm missing anything please let me know :P. The list isn't in any order, and there's some that I really don't care about and probably won't get for awhile (I'll probably just barrow them from some friends)
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl -Super Mario Galaxy -Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition -WarioWare: Smooth Moves -Okami -No More Heroes -Super Paper Mario -The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess -Mario Kart Wii -Metroid Prime Trilogy -Animal Crossing City Folk -MadWorld -Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Sadly, we may have collectively just made the master list of the only Wii games worth getting. :(
Although, if you're going for WiiWare, Lostwinds 1/2 and World of Goo are pretty much required downloads. The Homestar Runner series is pretty great too, if you're into point 'n clicks and/or Strong Bad.
i can name a few more i enjoyed ... tony hawk's downhill jam is more fun than it has any right to be, as is super monkey ball: banana blitz. also metal slug anthology is just as good on wii as any other platform, so if you don't already own it might as well pick it up. sonic and the secret rings also isn't horrible; it can actually be a pretty fun game.
Cave Story Wii is finally out. My tv sucks so the new graphics wasn't really a benefit. New music isn't as great as the original either. I guess I can try it now on Hard Mode, or some of the extras. Pity that everything is unlocked for you right from the beginning as well, even
Curly Mode
Edit:Hard Mode is a forced Minimal run. No Life capsules. I'm not sure about all the extra weapons. I usually go Polar Star, Fireball, and King's Blade anyways. And since you only start with 3 HP, it means if you take a hit at any one point, you're pretty much dead.
Curly Mode is essentially the same as the main game, except Curly has dialog. My guess is that Curly/Quote just traded places and that's it. Nothing special though just yet. :P
oo Metal slug does sound fun, we have a metal slug arcade box-thingy at the pizza place I eat at every wednesday. I've never played Cave Story, I'll have to check out what thats all about. I've heard about it though.
Also, has anyone played New Super Mario Brothers Wii? Is it worth getting?
Absolutely. I thought it was up there with Bros. 3 and World as far as how good the game was in the end. Would definitely recommend getting that if you love the 2D Mario games.
In other news, there's yet another DS iteration coming down the pipe: Nintendo 3DS. It's supposedly going to be able to project 3D images without needing to wear 3D glasses, but we won't know more until E3. I'll have to keep my eye on this one, since it sounds interesting. Course, depends on how Nintendo plans to pull this off in the end, but either way I'm going to keep tabs on it.
And that's why I'm not completely won over on this design choice yet. I'm hoping that with what, 15+ years of advancement, this new DS will be able to do better as far as that's concerned, but the Virtual Boy is still going to be in the back of my head until they release this and people get to experience it firsthand. I'd imagine most fans will be thinking along those lines.
In which case it'll be everything you hoped for. I was thinking about getting the XL, just to have a bigger screen, but I must admit I've been put off again now.
It would be really easy to create a handheld that can have 3D images without the need of glasses, since the screen is so small and it would never be more then arm lengths away (sorry you people that play with your feet).
makes me wonder how many developers would actually take advantage of such a capability. For example, the DS was supposed to be able to connect wirelessly to the Wii, but I cant think of any games that used it.
