Maybe weird was the wrong word to use, I didn't mean it as a bad thing. I dunno what it "should" do instead, seems fine to me. I just wanted to make sure people knew there was more to the right and I didn't just cut it off or something.
funny you should say that because we were just talking about that. what happens if the image is a link though? do you think people would rather just use what's built in to their browser for doing that - i.e. right click -> view image in new window or whatever?
On Zelda Universe's forums, embedded images bigger than a specified size are resized, with the option of viewing them in their normal size by clicking them.
Is it possible to make it so that if the image is linked and resized, the first time you click it it enlarges it, and the second time you click it it takes you to the link?

yes. is that something you'd like?

Can't remember. Probably, it should just stay a link, and use the [img] tags for embedding. That's what I'd do if a was a fancy forum-maker person.
not sure what you mean by "embedding". so it doesn't resize when you click on it?
Getting back to Portal 2 for a moment, I'd like to mention that "Thermally Discouraged" is a fantastic combination of words. Totally sold on the game for that alone.

i think the first part would be cool but why the second part? if you're viewing it full-size on the forum, i don't see a reason for it to be a link. can just click view image for that.
so clicking an image should show it at its full size. then when you click it again, it shrinks back.

Yeah, I loved that one too. (Of course, the fact that there's a little fire symbol above the turret only makes it better.) I could totally see GLADOS saying that at some point regarding the situation, which is the beauty of it.
Hope they have those kinds of smaller jokes in there a lot, but I'm guessing I won't have to worry after seeing some of GLADOS' quotes.

Nono, like, for example if you click this: Then it takes you to the link. If the image is big and gets resized, and you have to click to make it bigger, and it has a url link embedded like that then what would happen when you click it?

Well the only time I've clicked on an image here to go to a website was when we had sigs, and (Quietus I think) had an image in his sig to that charity thing and I clicked it. I don't think its really that big of a deal, so idk.
just pushed a new version that we think is the best solution. when you use the [img] tag, the image will automatically be resized to fit the topic width. you can then click the image to toggle between reduced and full size.
what this means is that if the image is within a [url] tag, clicking it will immediately follow the link. if you have links set to open in tabs rather than the same window, the image will also be resized.
From the scans it looks like they are adding a lot more ways to do puzzles, so there is probably going to be a shitton more levels. More levels will also mean more story, which is probably why they are selling it as a full game price thing.
Also Valve said its coming out this Holiday season :D
there's got to be more levels since apparently it's going to be a full price game. somehow i doubt the levels will be structured like the first game though ... 15 hours of that would get old quick.
I think it would be better if it had the default clicking action be opening a new page (if there is one), and if you can resize it, a little box appears "above" the image with some kind of icon showing that clicking on it will resize it.

you mean if it's in a link? if a user wants it to open in a new window/tab then they can just open it in a new window or tab themself (right click > open in new tab/window). don't think we should force that on users who might not be expecting it.

sounds like a good idea. i was actually thinking of doing something like this, but i'm going to wait for more user feedback before doing anything.

I second this, and also you could probably make the re-size smaller (youtube-player embedding size is what I was thinking, idk).
I thought it might be useful that if the image is in a spoiler tags then it doesn't get re-sized, since the spoiler tags already do that. Wondering what you guys think though.
Hey Toozin what do you think about Portal 2? I'm pretty pumped for it! Probably gonna be way better than whatever those silly people are talking about!
