It is a good answer, but it raises another obvious question: why do you need more than one? It doesn't get twice as cool when you have two of them. I'm sure he wanted to ask, but of course asking customers why they would want to give you their money isn't the wisest thing to do.
awesome ark. prime and fusion are such legendary games to me, so i should probably get backups. just in case i want to play then in many years from now.
They're claiming that social gaming on facebook (Farmville, etc) is going to change the whole video game industry. God, I hate those fucking retarded pieces of shit. They aren't even real video games, imo.
Remember when people were talking about how cellphone games are going to start dominating the industry?
Neopets has been doing what Zynga is doing for the past, like, 5 years. I used to play Mafia wars, played it for a few months (spending no more then 15 minutes on it a day) then quit at level 777. These games are just plain stupid, and farmville has to be one of the worst. They are by no means going to change the WHOLE gaming industry, but they certainly aren't going to die anytime soon. Cell-phone games however aren't really around anymore (unless you call Apple's App store cellphone games), and its not like Sony/Blizzard/Bethesda/nintendo is going to see these cheapie little browser games and be like, "OMFG WE CANT COMPETE WITH THIS, LETS MAKE OUR OWN SHITTY BROWSER GAME".
Farmville actually helped me out quite a bit. People used to make fun of me for playing games like Final Fantasy and Metroid, but now every time those guys start talking about Farmville I say "Look who's playing the faggy games now," and the best comeback they come up with is "So..." Hee-hee-hee...
My friend called me and had a question about somethign monster hunter related, then we got talking about a new monster hunter game that was supposed to be coming out. I (naturally) go to the monster hunter's wikipedia page to see if any new games are going to be released. I looked through the list, and apparently in April a new monster hunter is coming out on the Wii, but I also found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Hunter_Frontier
It's supposed to be an MMO, released on the PC and 360. I thought it was pretty funny that capcom kinda smacked their Sony loyalists with this game. The series started on the PS, and was easily one of the best PSP games (MH: Freedom Unite), and now they are completely ignoring the PS3. They are even releasing a game on the WII instead.
i guess i'm semi-interested in monster hunter tri because of its rave reviews, particularly the 40 from famitsu. never played a monster hunter game before.
Having put quite a few hours into the PSP game, if the Wii game is anything like it, it gets very very hard very very fast. At the start is like, AWESOME I'm hunting crazy monster, and when I kill some I get lots of materials to make new and better armor! Then a little bit later its like, "Yeah, okay, I just killed this boss for the 5th time, and he STILL hasn't dropped that one last valuable material I need to upgrade my weapon so I can progress more in this game". Then later you get 3 of your friends together, totally convinced them to play as much as you do, just so all 4 of you can go and run through the same dungeon over and over again trying to get more materials. You set up dates to get together to run through the places to get the rare materials because there is no way in hell you can possibly run through these by yourself, And right there at that very moment you realize you're playing a hand-held version WoW.
Monster Hunter was very fun but had one the the steepest difficulty curves of any game I've played. If you don't have anyone else to play it with (again, not sure how its going to be on the Wii) then you really just hit a wall. My friends and I discovered ways to "dupe" items (the only possible items you could dupe were things like explosive barrels, all the materials and armor/weapons are "soulbound" and you can't trade them to anyone else) and it did give us lots of money, but money is almost completely useless later on since its always about farming for materials.
This is why I'm so looking forward to the MMO version of it. It SHOULD have had online-play in the PSP game (it was LAN only) which would have made it waaaay better and a lot more fun.
